Your Dream Airline

Ok, this post is about your dream airline or airlines. If you could start up your own airline:

What would you call it?

How many aircraft would you have?

What types of aircraft would your fleet consist of?

What cities/& or countries/& or states would you fly to?

What hubs would you have?

Perhaps, the color/colors of your livery?

Would you have a subsidary? (& give some details about your subsidary if you would have one)

What would you call it? World International Airlines

How many aircraft would you have? appx. 500-600 aircraft

What types of aircraft would your fleet consist of?
BOEING: 717, 737-800, 757-200ER & 300, 767-200ER &767-300 &
767-400ER, 777-200ER & 777-300, maybe some 747's.
(McDonnell Douglas)--MD-82's, MD-83's, & MD-88's

AIRBUS: A320-200, A330's, & A340's

What cities/& or countries/& or states would you fly to? I would fly to
most states in the U.S. including Hawaii & Alaska, Europe,
South America, Central America, selected cities in Canada, &
selected cities in Africa, Australia, Japan, & China.

What hubs would you have? RDU, DFW, MIA, JFK, LGW or LHR,
SFO, & maybe ORD, & or SEA.

Perhaps, the color/colors of your livery? Red, White, & Blue, with
touches of silver, diff. from AA's livery.

Would you have a subsidary? (& give some details about your subsidary if you would have one) I would have a subsidary. It would be called World Express. It would have around 300-400 aircraft such as the CRJ-200's, 700's, & 900's; ERJ-135's, 140's, & 145's, with the potential for EMB-190's. I would also have some MD-87's/ & or 737-300's/400's for some short, full routes. I would fly to lots of cities & countries as my main carrier would, but just operating lots of regional flights & flying to some smaller airports as which my mainline carrier wouldn't.

I have had that game before. It was very fun until I heard about another game, which I bought. It's called AIRLINE & it is continuosly updated. Go to airlinesimulation.com to find out more. It's a real, business like simulation game.

Now, anybody want to tell about their dream airlines.

Actually, I didn't know there was a "World Airways" until I just looked it up on airliners.net. But anyway..maybe I can call it TransJet Airlines.

Delta Airlines circa:last time they were profitable.

As we all know I'm rather bias toward Delta airlines. Lets just face it people there the best.

Pros:

All Boeing fleet

Best hub cities: ATL,CVG,SLC,DFW,MCO,PDX,JFK

Pretty colors

Nice route system

Area's for improvement:

Ditch the old 737-200's,300's

Buy new Boeing 737-700's NG's to replace the older 737's

Order the Boeing 737-900

Order the Boeing 757-300

Order more 767-400ER's and 777-200ER's

Get a London Heathrow slot

Buy Continental Airlines (Hey they tried but the merger fell through)

Hire me as a pilot 757/767 7E7 pilot (hehehehe)

My favorite airline would be just like United when they still had their dc-10's and L10-11's, probly like what doug said. United circa 1998.

Or an airline thats all 747's and an antonov an-225 and mabey some large tri-jets.

What would you call it? Patriot Airlines

How many aircraft would you have?
300-400 aircraft in the end.

What types of aircraft would your fleet consist of?
Boeing 737NG

What cities/& or countries/& or states would you fly to?
I would fly to the larger cities inside the continental U.S., and then expand out to smaller less urban cities with Patriot Connection as the my airline grew.

What hubs would you have? DFW, JFK, LAX, ATL, SFO

Perhaps, the color/colors of your livery?
Red, White, & Blue, with the U.S. flag as a my logo. The interior of my aircraft would have red, white, and blue seats in economy, and dark blue leather seats in first.

Would you have a subsidary?
I probably would have one, named Patriot Connection, whitch offered nonstop flights from small and large communites to my 5 hubs whitch would then take them to their finall destination. Patriot Connection would fly around 100 airplanes consisting of the Boeing 717, for larger airports and the ERJ-145, for smaller communities. Also, it's livery would be like Patriot Airlines, just the title would be Patriot Connection (Like Delta with Delta Shuttle).

I would offer competitive fares, and I would configure my 737NG into half first, and half economy class, with an option to upgrade to first for a small fee, like AirTran. Also, I would have PTV's installed in first class.

Note that there are no issues regarding pay, scheduling, scope clauses, management (the big one!) in the pros/cons???

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]Anywhere. And with the DHC-6, there would be few places I couldn't go. (Maybe Vatican City, Monaco, San Marino, Lichtenstein would be off limits - unless I were to acquire a V-22...)

Oh, so that's how they got into my brain...

Actually, I keep thinking of them with the beige color and green logo from when I flew them in college.

But my thoughts for bright colors were colors that were easily distinguishable from the ground or from the air. After all, Slick Air Twin Otters could fly in the Arctic/Antarctic or in the Yukon. Either way, in the event of a crash, you would want something that did not look like anything on the ground.
