Your career progression!

Initial certificates --> CFI --> Freight company (or not, according to @mikecweb and @Stone Cold :) ) --> Regional in 2007 --> Furloughed in 2008 --> Grad school in 2009 --> Back to the regional in early 2011 --> Finish grad school --> Still at the original regional six years later, still in the right seat.

When I was hired they were talking about how we'd all upgrade after 18 months. Too bad I got furloughed after 14.

Your grad school will help you more than you think. What did you get it in?

Certificates > 135 scenics > Regional FO > Furlough > 135 > Recall to regional > 121 heavy/international > 135 > 121 left seat. 6 years total.

9 credits shy of a 4 year degree in 1994 (got very frustrated with "Harvard", a story told over beers), flew little, bartended and partied > Joined the Navy and worked on computers for 9 years > Finished degree while on shore duty > Intructed/flew meat missiles > Aerial survey > Freight > 135 charter > Lead pilot Lear 60 corporate (Kiev) > Captain G-450 Moscow Corporate.

And, yes, @jtrain, training captain does not count if you never flew the line...just saying.:D:cool:

Certificates>instructing>135 pax>135 Air Ambulance>135 cargo>instructing/pt91 corp>121 regional. So far the regional is the easiest.

Join USAF as ATCS, check....leave USAF for FFA ATC gig, check....spend 30 yeas as a controller (a real controller not some ass hat that spends a couple of years on the boards and runs to a office job off for most of their time but brags about being a ATCS when they could not separate the cheeks of their ass if their hands were super glued to them), check....retire at 49, check.......... enjoy life not having to put up with the BS...CHECK!!!!!
