My experience with aircraft manufacturing and certification was limited to single engine piston airplanes. And yet I was still impressed with the extent of the process and how seriously the OEM I worked for took it…to almost a detrimental extent. For example, we had a blatant copy/paste error make it into a POH. The ODA process to fix it was extreme to put it lightly and I remember being told that having ODA was so important to business that they had to be harder than the FAA probably would’ve been. We built jets too and I can’t imagine the propulsion source changing the mindset. Boeing clearly needed a culture change, hopefully this isn’t an indication of similar at Gulfstream.
But all that aviation related musing distracts from certification via angry-not-a-tweet.
