Yo ATN_Pilot

COMPLETELY unlike NATCO, which was user friendly.

Then there's the other aspect of not-like-NATCO, where you emerge from your hotel a couple blocks from the training center and there are six squad cars, detectives, and forensics staff marking rounds in the parking lot with yellow CRIME SCENE DO NOT CROSS tape everywhere.

Followed up with, 48 hours later, stepping out of the Subway that's part of the gas station across the street with a sandwich for the evening sim session, and retreating back into the Subway after seeing four officers screaming GET OUT OF THE CAR with their guns drawn and aimed at the driver.

... excuse me, van driver, I guess we'll take the shuttle today after all.

I liked the training hotel in Saint Paul, even if it made me feel like a hamster at times...

The only thing someone had to worry about safety wise at NATCO was freezing to death if you tried walking to your sim in January.

This is true.

The only thing that drives me nuts are the captains who haven't learned the new procedures or the Surface features. 90% of the time, I'll downloaded an electronic flight plan, populate FDP and FlightWeatherViewer with the weather data and my copilots sit there watching and say stuff like "What…the HELL… is that?! I've never seen another person use any of that."

But it comes in handy because most guys senior to me have no clue how to effectively bid or use CSI (Continuous Schedule Improvement) their schedules. :)

It's a weekly show & tell for my captains :D

At some point they've got to realize that they're paid a tidy sum to learn what the average 7th grader can figure out in 5 minutes.

Those guys still have @aol.com emails too

I bid number 20 in base for November and got one of the 2 (TWO) 60 day lines that got both Thanksgiving and Christmas off.

I am very glad that people don’t pay any attention when bidding.
They just want their $75 meal voucher.

I actually did bid to work Christmas because I don't care and I figured someone else might.
