A few things...
First, sorry I couldn't right more last night I was very pumped and had to get ready to go down to Atlantic City last night with my friends to celebrate.
Secondly, thanks to ALL of you on here. This site is the best and I have learned SO much from being on here. It has been invaluable to me and my learning.
To answer the questions...
Yes it was only about a 20 minute ground oral. That is after he checked over my paperwork, flight plans, etc. The DE asked me a few questions about the sectional, a few about the plane, drew some fronts, basic aerodynamic stuff and off we went.
The checkride was awesome by far the best flight of my life in terms of my flying and landings. I greased all three landings we did. A short field, soft-field, and no flaps. The DE is BIG on landings.
About the numbers I actually broke down the cost of my PPL. It cost me $8543.44 NOT including supplies and books. Before my checkride my time was:
TT was 67.4
Dual Received: 57
Cross Country was: 17.9 (I LOVE EM)
PIC was 10.4
Complex: 8 (I want an Arrow /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif)
Simulated Hood time was 3.7
Night 3.1
157 Day Landings
11 Night Landings
All of this time was logged since April 10th of this year.
My instructor is an awesome guy and an awesome teacher. He has definetly created an excellent foundation for me to continue to learn and for me to reach my ultimate goals in aviation. I am going to use him for my Instrument and Commercial stuff as well. We did not cut any corners and trained with the best aircraft available to us.
On to the instrument. Was not able to fly today, but I bought the Jepp Instrument/Commercial Book and plan on using that along with the King tapes for the next rating.
Once again though, I would like to thank everyone on here for the advice and support that is offered on here.
