Fwiw, I just finished a photo shoot on a beach down in key largo for a small family. Using the wft on my 1d, all of the pictures were on my home FTP server in NJ inside of an hr. from there I connected with remote desktop ran a batch raw conversion, as well as some general batch processes ( b/w, vignette etc) when I saw them 3 hours later I had a web album set up for orders, and was able to sit there, on the tab (plugged in to a 40in tv going through the images and making notes)
Placed $350 in print orders, I'd say half because I was able to sit down with the photos in their location.
Sure I could do it with a laptop, but, when I walk around with 2 camera bodies, 5+ lenses reflectors, 3 strobes, stands, props etc, the tab is so much better. Add in the seamless wifi hot spot ( and ability to download the images from my 7d(not paying for the wireless grip) and upload) it really works well for me.
Once I get home I'll actually edit the photos, but, it's not work I want to do on my laptop anyways, and my laptops got a core i7 2.3ghz, 6gb ram and nvidea 525qm card with cuda - it's no slouch, but it's not ideal for editing.
The real point here, is that the right tab can really do amazing amounts of work.
It depends what you want to do with it. I have an iPhone 4s, and the xoom. A production review version is like 5 updates old.
It's one of those things, general use, multi media the iPad is great. However, the iPad is useless to me.
All of the above was with a xoom
