XJT contract

No, but typically the SEC doesn't like it when a business that's already owned by another business purchases something. SkyWest, Inc made the purchase and to protect the chosen ones, Jerry's Kids, they merged ASA and XJT. However, write history to suit yourself. That chip on your shoulder starts to get mighty heavy a couple of years into a long career.

Huh? I'm not aware of any rules preventing a subsidiary from buying a company. It happens fairly regularly.

It's not writing history to say that ASA purchased XJT...since that's what happened. You guys are the ones who want to rewrite the history to suit your narrative. But hey, it's ancient history now.

It would be important if pilots learned that their own feelings are irrelevant when it comes to business decisions, but they always seem to get caught up in their own delusions of grandeur.

It's stupid for ASA pilots to get pissed about this. This has nothing to do with the LXJT MEC or XJT management hosing CRJ pilots. It was a deal with United, something United proposed. What was the company suppose to do? Tell them to pound sand?
It's nothing more than a guaranteed interview, it isn't a flow through. Grow up people. Sometimes life isn't fair.
Good luck to the ERJ pilots who wish to take advantage of this. Unlike the other childish, whiney CRJ pilots I only wish you the best of luck and am happy for you.

Corporate transaction history is well documented and archived by the SEC. Here's a direct quote from the Form 8-K filed by SkyWest, Inc. on August 4, 2010:

"On August 4, 2010, SkyWest, Inc. (“SkyWest”) issued a press release announcing its execution of an Agreement and Plan of Merger (the “Merger Agreement”), dated August 3, 2010, by and between SkyWest, Express Delaware Merger Co., an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest (“SkyWest Subsidiary”), and ExpressJet Holdings, Inc. (“ExpressJet”), pursuant to which SkyWest proposes to acquire ExpressJet, through a merger between SkyWest Subsidiary and ExpressJet, and the stockholders of ExpressJet will receive $6.75 per share in cash for each of the issued and outstanding shares of common stock of ExpressJet (collectively, the “Merger”)."

The "we bought you" mantra is just one of many examples why this merger has been a complete failure. Hubris has blinded reality for the "leaders" in control of the ASA pilot group. They have attempted to paint a picture of the XJT pilot group as being "obstructionists," SkyWest being "done with them," etc., all nothing more than a veil for them to hide behind while they pursue their selfish agenda of absolute control. Their overt tactics of stalling at every turn, in an attempt to bleed the XJT pilot group to death, has severely harmed their own pilots in the process. The events of the last several weeks should be a wake up call for the ASA pilots to take their airline back before it's too late. Or you can just keep running around shouting "we bought you," while simultaneously complaining that SkyWest pilots are flying ASA tails in and out of Atlanta. Up to you.

Thankfully I don't fly in and out of Atlanta or care to anymore. Certainly have heard the SKW in ATL complaints though.

And yet here in a few months we will see who the members of the MEC elect or reelect for those very "leader" positions you speak of. Fairly certain one of them is going on his fourth attempt at running this pilot group.

Now is the time to reach out to your elected reps to demand change and encourage your colleagues to do is same. Overwhelming feedback from the pilots caused them to reverse their vote on the extension and let the pilots see it and decide for themselves, so they've proven to be receptive to it. Sadly, they have also proven beyond a shadow of a doubt just how out of touch they are with their pilots, as their narrow 5-4 vote was buried by 84% of the pilots they "represent." I wonder if they'll be honest with you and tell you the real reason why they didn't want to send the extension out. Hint: it had nothing to do with the extension itself. See the post above for a clue.

Reading between the lines wasn't difficult.

Why our meeting minutes are not on the MEC website is inexcusable. They were once all there - I know cause I put them there. Subsequently to disappear during a previous administration.

Additionally when the votes are taken in executive session and certain Reps desire for the vote results to be anonymous - as I've heard personally in observing multiple MEC meetings. Granted, things may have changed but our pilots wouldn't know because we don't see meeting minutes.

Sounds like ALPA policy (not to mention federal labor law) is being violated, all while the ASA pilots are being treated like mushrooms - left in the dark and fed tons of $H|T. The time to act is now.

Oh boy...while this isn't meant to be directed at all those who have volunteered and are currently serving in a capacity but absolutely.

And to think, strangely, that you and I somehow agree on something. Hmm.
