XJT contract

It's a wonderful day for ASA pilots.

We buy XJT, take their name, and are once again left in the dust.

Congrats ERJ drivers. Well played. Have horrible performance, get down in the gutter, piss off SkyWest Inc during their first attempt to snatch y'all up, realize you're dying during the second attempt that ends up being performed by ASA Holdings, Inc. and piss all over the living room floor for almost six years and now you can head on off to the big house with the tile.

Well played boys. Well played.

Yeah, I'm bitter. Big deal.

You see kids: It's not about always being nice.

Man, I feel you and I feel for you. But please don't think this is about us ERJ, I would never root against you at all. I realize we are two seniority list and 2 groups but I have no power over what happens on the back end. I would imagine anything we get you will get soon, so I am absolutely hoping for the same thing to come for you guys.

I wish we could have come to an agreement and had one contract, and I hope eventually we can get to that. Best of luck to you and all of you guys, nothing but respect for you guys.

It's ridiculously divisive but management knew that going in. The XJT MEC knew that going in.

Enjoy it. You guys hit the lottery.

We still have an old fleet, parking planes, no expansion, sky high upgrade time, took me 2+ years to get off rsv in a junior base. It's not like this is changing everything. They could still shut us down in 2 years like many think will happen

How did either side win out? Did I miss something?

I think so. Unless you've now seen it...

ERJ pilots gain flow to United. And only the ERJ pilots. Guaranteed to fill at least 25% of the United new hires annually.

I can only imagine the sadness certain future new hires will feel when they get assigned to the CRJ, hah.

Ehhh it's not a flow, only guaranteed interviews... Not only that but it's "up to 25% of their projected hiring." To me that sounds like it could be anywhere from 1-25% of their expected new hires are guaranteed an interview. For anyone relatively junior I think you have a better shot networking and doing anything you can to better yourself in the meantime.

Yeah, I'm junior, that preferential hiring thing means diddly to me. I will never interview at United

Oh cute! The "we bought you" line again.

That sure is some revisionist history. You should really look up the definition of insanity, Josh. The wisdom gained could serve you well.

To the contrary, it would appear that in the end, the nice guy got the girl and the jerk went home with his jerk friends to commiserate why they can't ever score. Hopefully this time the jerks finally get out a mirror. In the long run, jerks never win at the game of life. Ever. (This Is an analogy not name calling just in case that isn't abundantly clear.)

Remind me again, what was your stock symbol on the day of the merger?

You were bought because you were failing, remember? ASA saved your ass from being back at the bottom of another seniority list. Remember the days when you used to thank ASA guys for buying you and saving you?

Now, like @surreal1221 says, you pissed on our backs as soon as you finished screwing us. Your MEC's worked this backroom deal in secret. That's the only reason they had a 9-0 vote to amend the TPA to allow us to negotiate our contracts separately. Had we not done that, you'd have NEVER gotten this deal.

A spade is a spade.

See my last post.

First off, again, I'll ask the question. It's not rhetorical. I'd like an answer. What was ASA's stock symbol on the day of the XJT Merger?

Secondly, I didn't piss on anyone. I've been gone from XJT for 3 years. I got no deal from XJT. Rethink your audience.

Ironically, I know work at a place where I keep hearing "We bought you!", "We saved your ass!", "You were dying!", "You were liquidating!", etc, etc. Of course all that is punctuated with spittle and ramblings about integrity and the Nicolau Award, but still. Go ahead, though, project your anger onto me. I get it when I ride particular jumpseats, even though I had nothing to do with that battle either. If it makes you feel better, vent away.

I'd be more mad at my own leadership than the other groups that had theirs get a better deal for them. It's not the fXJT pilots fault. I would be mad at them if I was a CRJ pilot because they got a better deal without any supercritical wing time.

A stock ticker symbol is not required to purchase another business.

No, but typically the SEC doesn't like it when a business that's already owned by another business purchases something. SkyWest, Inc made the purchase and to protect the chosen ones, Jerry's Kids, they merged ASA and XJT. However, write history to suit yourself. That chip on your shoulder starts to get mighty heavy a couple of years into a long career.
