XJT AIP

The MECs don't even see it until the week of the 18th. Anybody who says they know what's in it is lying and trying to start rumors.

No PBS. and it sucks too, cause thats one of my favorite channels...
I'm curious to see the AIP, but PBS can actually be great. It depends on language over feasibility and virtual credit.

Feel free to get angry, I won't take it personally. It's only what I spend half the month working on and understand pretty well.

I don't get angry from a text on an online forum. And I agree that language is crucial. It'll be interesting too see what that future language is.

I've actually had pretty good results bidding my line in phase 2 (even in a vacation month which is one of everyone's big concerns).

That is the entire source of my frustration with how long it took us to arrive at this point in our negotiations.

First off, if you think management is going to sign any contract that doesn't have PBS in it (without SIGNIFICANT concessions), I have a bridge to sell you. Instead of using all this time to come up with language that benefits us, this turned into a huge dong measuring match that lead basically nowhere.

Ignoring that, the software that we use to bid is basically immaterial when compared to the work rules attached to it. You can have an awesome line bidding system that has very strict contraction rules so that more people can get the kinds of schedules they want. You can have a PBS system that guarantees 3 days off between trips. Hell, you can have your monthly schedule put together by having a monkey throwing darts as long as you design the dart board correctly.

My point being is that this entire pissing match over PBS vs line bidding was a huge waste of time and probably the only reason we are having to even TALK about concessions.

It's gonna be awesome. We have great negotiators receiving direction from awesome reps and highly engaged MECs fighting for our pilots.

I am so excited to see this come to an end.

((No, really...our negotiators are great guys, not being sarcastic.))

I think expecting awesome is probably setting the bar a bit high. I'm just hoping for "not a train wreck"
