This just proves a point that racism does exist in the world. I have many friends who are African American, Haitian, Cuban, you name it. I married a girl who is Asian and I see racism and stereotyping with her everyday!! It makes me sick, even the little jokes and pokes of fun at other races. It happens everywhere, on this forum, in the streets at the workplace and IN MAGAZINES!
Don't let this guy hold you down man. Don't let him get to you in anyway! We are people living a dream and yes I have a Dream too!
In conclusion to this Hijack I'm writing, I leave you with these parting words. You have one life to live! Live YOUR DREAM!!DO NOT sweat the negativity! Let the negativity motivate you to be the absolute best you can be. I like a good challenge, I like proving people wrong and I love it when the odds are stacked against me and I succeed!

It's a little disconcerting to find that disliking rap or voicing an opinion against it makes one racist. Since racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another and not just musical opinions I am curious to know something:
In a melting pot like America where pop culture is about 80% devoted to racial stereotypes (ever watched any of the more successful stand-up comedians?) where is the line on acceptable comments vs. unacceptable.
I say this because I've had a hell of a time over the years. First hurdle was the feminism thing. I would be very careful in how I interacted with female employees. Then they would turn around and embarrass me with some lewd joke.
A few weeks ago I flew with a Korean ancestory flight attendant. I know this because she was constantly making self-depracating jokes about being Korean. She had a whole routine she did about it. If I had responded in kind would I be racist?
It gets confusing sometimes. Humor seems the best way to handle this whole thing. And I don't mind jokes about old fat white men or captains, etc. But I feel like I'm stepping into a mine field if I try to join in. And man I hate rap. If you can't make fun of that what can you make fun of? You have watched Dave Chapelle, right?
