I understand that when you take your FOI and CFI written it will expire in 24 months if you do not go ahead and complete the checkride. What if you complete the FOI, CFI written and then the AGI together. You would then have your AGI certificate for ground instruction (which seems to be a completely different certificate than the actual CFI)? I realize it would be limited to ground instruction.
My idea is if it took a while to get to the actual flying portion and check ride would the 24 month expiration rule still count for the written tests or would having the AGI certificate still be good? Does it expire? Thanks in advance for the help.
