Why wear the monkey suit?

Where have you been?

On a thread related note, meh. I don't sign the checks and I don't own the plane, until I do I'll fly it how they want dressed how they want.

WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO MAKE THIS JOB SO DIFFICULT? Show up on time, wear what you're supposed to wear, fly how you're supposed to fly, GO HOME. End of story.

Scoreless soccer.

"But, no fair, I want…" :)

"Why does it matter?"

"My uncle makes a millionty dollars per year and wears a Speedo!"

My employer has strict uniform standards and say "Here's the rulebook, follow these, stack that cheddar" so I do which means I'm the target of a lot of "Woo hoo, nice coat, SouthernJets boy! Thank yower butter dan us, do ya?" :) But then, I could take a pay and benefit cut and not have to deal with it, but you can't have both.

Imagine being at a regional that requires hats year round. Lots of jokes and snickering from the other groups out there. "Hey man I am just doing what's required of me" I am more than willing to wear the hat because 1. They pay me and require it. 2. I think it looks more professional, especially being a very young Captain and all eyes are on you. 3. I don't like making my job more difficult and have to worry about unnecessary conversations with management. PLUS it holds all my stuff together in the hotel.

Best professional advice my father ever gave me: Don't get time off for something stupid.

Exactly.

My best uniform advice was during the BK times at Northernjets. The big man still went to work dressed to the nines when many weren't because "not wearing the uniform correctly doesn't do anything to management, it just makes you look bad." Again, its not rocket surgery.
