Why Cover Your N Number?

FedEx in FLL painted over their MD-10 pretty fast after the accident there. They also have a 727 over there on the ramp that was painted over and BCAD put down the side of it. From the airline standpoint I get it. It is bad press and a bad image to remind your paying pax the plane across the field was in an accident. Kind of like negative advertising. For the N number on small planes I would speculate it is done to try and keep the media at bay for a little beat before they start beating down the door to talk your wife/husband.

make them work a little bit to find the info

just my .02 worth...

Different airline. The lighter blue stripe is over the dark... Wait, they put the wheels on the roof too... It's a different make!....

When they retired them, FedEx gave all their 727s to airports all over the country to be used for firefighting and/or hostage drills. They were worth more as a tax write off than parts and scrap metal.

IFL group bought a couple of the supers. Great machine! More Power is never a bad thing.
