Sorry sweetheart didn't mean to offend 19th century Royal Navy terms. Officer candidates or commisioned officer of the lowest rank (wiki). Not to be pedantic, but officers slept in the gunroom, midshipmen slept in the cockpit.

It's 2011. I would have hoped by now that people would understand that a penis is not a requirement to be a pilot.
Do it again, and I'll have the Master's Mate get you on a grating with his cat.![]()
Recently I read a story about a guy causing a disturbance on a plane because the pilot was a female. He caused such a problem he had to be removed from the flight.

Seriously.....some people....
The military did some studies not long ago that proves Women can pull more G's than men in fighters.
I don't think most Indians have an issue with women. The ones that I know here for flight training have mostly been very open to women flying.Did anyone read this article?
"The man said, "I don't want to die! She can't take care of the house, how will she take care of a plane," co-passenger Partha Guh told news agency IANS."
Then again it is India. Very different culture.
"..., but I must warn you, I am no great friend to the cat."

One of the lessons you will learn is that it is more important to know what you DON'T know...

If you look at careers where women are the majority they historically are ones that mold around maternity easy - teachers and nurses. Airline flying on the other hand is quite the opposite.
Haven't flown with a "special needs" co-pilot or student before, have you?![]()

Or, it can be said, that for a long time teaching, nursing & secretarial work were about the ONLY careers available to women. With a few exceptions we were pretty much shut out of most other jobs.
Women proved themselves quite well at flying during the war, yet were still not allowed at the airlines for DECADES afterwards.
