Because we didn't want 500 springs coming lose.mnixon why so many straps? seems like a bit of overkill.
Probly better to overkill than underkill, eh?
His wife asks him the same question.mnixon why so many straps? seems like a bit of overkill.
It's a dc9, just jumpseating on that one. That's why the jack is there.two straps would have been sufficient for all of it. just noticed the pallet jack, thats a nice touch.
Easier yes, but isn't banging a tranny in brazil with no protection easier also? I don't know how you figure less straps is safer but, I'd be delighted to hear your reason.when one strap is good for up to 5000 lbs two straps is over kill in a falcon 20. not to mention easier and safer if loaded properly.
mnixon; Easier yes said::laff:Holy Crap, now thats funny!

Everything Nixon speaks is from personal experience. How on earth did you come up with that one?:rotfl:

Your right, I crapped on myself when I heard it. MONSTER RAIN!I'm almost certain that's a Jimmy Norton line...at least, I know he did a similar joke on his last HBO special...
Agree, we always load all the way aft with two straps.since it's a dc-9 ill retract my statement. as far as a falcon20, say the freight was loaded spaced apart like in the pic it has a greater chance of gaining momentum and moving around(seen it happen numerous times, all while using every strap in the airplane). if all the freight was loaded flush againts the back then having it starped in such a manner that applied pressure pushing it aft gives it less of a chance to move.
Yes sir, it's lovely ain't it. And the mall next door is like being in Mexico City!Mnixon, where those pics of the Fairfield Inn out of KLRD?
"I'll let the many, many former 135 freight dawgs answer that one."
I went from 135 freight, to 121 turboprop freight, to UPS.
Obviously, times have changed, but a guy could work his way up to 747's doing nothing but 135 freight.
LOL, the "Del Norte". Just make sure to get your burgers well done over at the Fudruckers next door. Do you go to KLRD a lot (TDY)? Lacy's is an awesome FBO there.Yes sir, it's lovely ain't it. And the mall next door is like being in Mexico City!
Yea we're in the quite a bit because of the prox to Mexico. Fudd's? It's an easy place to get a beer and burger once you get done, but Taco Palenque blows any Mexican food I've had out of the water, hands down.LOL, the "Del Norte".
