I was told they belonged to the FBI...
Speaking of that, can you hook up 119 with a short cut today?![]()
I was able to help them out in getting fuel and services.
How many 100 dollar bills did you have to lay out?
Depending on where we were going (last company) there was a briefcase with a large amount in it for "handling fees."
I hear Vision has been doing flying to Cuba too...must be cool to fly 767s over there.
I used to work for a flight department that would take about $30k in cash with them on an around the world trip. They'd go to some rather nasty places that don't take credit cards, or the wheels of progress would need quite a bit of grease.
L-3 used to have some white 757s and 767s float through RDU frequently. You could track them for a while and then L-3 blocked their N numbers.
There are actually quite a few places in the world where cash is king, either for "assistance fees", fuel, handling charges, or making sure the police have gas money. This is not unusual for crews to take "trip cash" for these sorts of situations. I will not say how much is the most cash I have carried for a trip is, as my amount was piddly compared to the cash my boss always had on him.I've never flown anything that big, but it seems it would be tight keeping a 767 inside the blinking light.
Did we used to work together? At my old job we carried large sums of cash, sometimes to make things happen, sometimes for out of the way places in the s pacific that would only accept cash for fuel.
In my short time in Iraq there were either white or grey airplanes. few had any identifying features and NO logos. And the TCAS showed target after target that you never saw. Didn't matter. IL-76 freighters, 767s, A320s, DH-8s, King Airs, C-337s.. very non-descript. You couldn't tell who was who without seeing the lanyards.Their 757s would go through TUS quite aa bit after picking up loads of only male passengers
Well Arnold Palmer said he was flying his Citation X for the last time the other day...so...

The new job is a bit different, but the same...

When they could be tracked, you would see a fair number of international destinations as well as quite a few going into Eglin AFB in Florida.Yeah, these guys used to park (haven't been to BFM in a while, might still be there) down in Mobile. I wish I had a cool job.
