Where's the Selfie?

Ahh, the venerable "uncommanded evacuation".

The bad thing about the mad dog is that there is no indication in the cockpit when the exits are popped.

Well... the door is thin enough to hear the Lead say-

Anyone else see the over-wing emergency exit just chilling on the wing? If its damaged I'm certain that's a "no go" item... Bravo to all those seasoned airline passengers creating a more dangerous situation than necessary. I wonder if the aircraft had stopped moving prior to the passengers extricating themselves from the interior.

At least they didn't blow the tail.

But of course, there's a flight attendant there would would have said, "sit yo' fool ass down, y'ain't goin' no where, it ain't nothing!"

You have no idea how accurate of a statement that is... vernacular usage aside the FA's do a damn good job with the tools (or lack thereof) they are provided. Normally they can quell a prison riot with shanks crafted from sporks but this time it looks like one slippery "Jim Tom" caught them flatfooted and popped the door before they could even utter "What the...."

If I had $1 for everytime as a ramper I saw someone waiting to board a Bro or an RJ try and light a cigarette...

"Sir you need to put that out you can't smoke on the ramp"

"I DON'T SEE A SIGN."

Like people, at the Grand Canyon, that presume that since there isn't a guard rail that it's safe to walk out to the brim and pose for a selfie.

Removing an emergency exit is easy, as it should be. They can't just be popped back in and the airplane is legal. Normally it's an RII item, requiring an inspector who wasn't involved with the removal or installation to inspect the work performed as well as observe the pressurization/leak checks and then complete the paperwork. Sometimes we find life vests missing from our planes, apparently the high falooting pax we cater to feel these are acceptable freebies to take home, these vests are serialized and tracked by MX because of their inspection due dates. People are awesome.

I was talking to our maintenance guy when I worked in Kiev, and he was telling me a story about them stapling the life vests in because pax thought they were theirs..."your life vest is located under your seat". So they go into mx and the techs ask him about it. He looks at them and says, please give me 10 minutes, then the airplane is yours. He then explained and the maintenance guy realized what he was in for.

Ah, the life of a vagabond pilot. The book will come out the day after I retire from the International contract world.

If they were stapled in they're not airworthy, the bag thay are wrapped in is supposed to be air tight, might seem silly but it could render an airplane grounded if ramped. What do these people do with them when they get home? Halloween costume maybe?

You're preaching to the choir. I just found it humorous. I flew a Lear 60 for the executives. This event was on their MD-80 fleet. They are no longer in business, but the things you see and hear in this job just astound you some times.

I'm waiting for a life raft to go missing, 406 ELT will lead the military directly to the pool party. And those rafts aren't cheap or to be toyed with, plus they're really heavy.

We need to start giving them all a booklet to read and a test to take before they are even allowed to purchase a ticket.
I wonder if there is a way to sue passengers. They scare others and slander anything airplanes that doeesn't fit their skull cavity, and sometimes they even sue for it, I don't see why not. Heck, why not even create a air passenger behaviour record database and the minute a person pops up in there better get used to long commutes?? Not like a TSA no fly list. Something more intermediate and closer to people than that.
I'm also thinking how far away from the NO STEP signs they went, thus possibly damaging a wing component.

Take care

Yeppers, the wing and the door will obviously have to be inspected and the poor crew will have to answer for/try to explain what the idiotic pax did. Makes for a pleasant day.
