I think more attention needs to be paid during the briefing. Reminds me of the guy in the raft on the Hudson with an upside down life vest.

"They did not make any announcements to the rest of the plane until they noticed that someone had opened the emergency exit."
Passenger-initiated evacuation?

It was more than a gallon... and if the initial reports are correct the leak source was the tail compartment section near the APU... just another day... nothing to see here.

I think crews need to also keep passengers more apprised of what's going on too. All to often I find myself thinking, "are you going to talk to the people?"
 
Perhaps the pax need to wait for the crew to properly assess the situation and determine how they are going to handle it before just taking matters into their own hands. This wasn't a crash situation.

And what did these pax think they were going to do standing and possibly slipping/falling off the wing onto the asphalt? And look at how many of them have all of their belongings with them, like everyone! Two of them even have their rollerboards. Many of them are on their phones too.........I am just dumbfounded that they thought that this was a brilliant idea. What if it had been a leak from that wing and someone caused a spark? What did they think they were going to do once they were out on the wing? Jump?

Lucky that none of them were injured getting off the wing.

We need to start giving them all a booklet to read and a test to take before they are even allowed to purchase a ticket. lol

Make that a total of four rollers! Good grief!

Just to add to this...the person who took this was just chilling in the window seat? So was an evac ordered?

Is the procedure in these MD's to drop the flaps? If so, I can just see a Mrs./Mr. Rollerboard standing on the trailing edge, talking on the cell after deciding to pull the door, and BAM! Gravity took over.

Gah, that's one way to get them on the ground in a hurry! You think to need to rush to exit the plane that quickly without any direction/instructions from the crew?........lemme help you.

Just read another article that states;

"Airport spokesman Sean Briggs says Flight 330 had reached the gate area Friday evening when fuel leaked from an auxiliary motor used for taxiing. He says the passengers apparently acted on their own, without being directed by the flight crew. He small leak was quickly cleaned up. Briggs says the plane is grounded while officials investigate."

They apparently drove a bag loader over to get them off the wing. I would have been tempted to just retrieve their bags and leave them standing there. lol

To hell with you guys, we're all one car accident, massive layoff, or stroke away from having to ride Allegiant. And should that day come, and I have to evacuate an Allegiant aircraft, hell yes I'm taking my bag with me. Because if I don't, it's likely to have been stolen by the time I get back.

I've had enough frackin' bear country jamboree looking families approach me at work and ask where to go to get to their Allegiant flight ("Back to your car and across the bay - because you're at the wrong airport) to know I wouldn't leave anything of value on that plane.
 
Absolutely! All baggage and carryons should always be taken with you during any evac.

Clog the aisles, hit someone on the head from getting them from an overhead bin, hit someone in the aisle and make them fall so they can be trampled by pax or need help getting up and delaying the evac from the plane, make sure you do not have both hands free in order to be able to help another pax, hold onto the seats yourself or move any debris out of your path effectively, fly faster down a slide and fall over the bag, lose the bag on the slide and bang it into the person ahead of you causing them to fall or trip, trip or fall running with your bag on the ground, delay getting away from a plane as long as possible, struggle to be able to stand up and juggle all of your belongs when you make it to the ground so that other pax have to wait for you or they just slide into you, make sure you get in the way of approaching emergency vehicles by dragging all of your crap with you, because that personal stuff in your bag is worth far more than your life or the lives of others.

Also remember that whatever else you do, make sure to stop near the aircraft and take some of those all important selfies............especially of the other pax still on board the plane peering out the windows in a panic because you delayed their egress. At least you still have your underwear, 5 year old laptop and your toothbrush......... that's all that matters!

This just in! Allegiant announces a new premium service (fee) for early wing deboarding! Why wait for the jet bridge when one is attached to the plane already!

Anyone else see the over-wing emergency exit just chilling on the wing? If its damaged I'm certain that's a "no go" item... Bravo to all those seasoned airline passengers creating a more dangerous situation than necessary. I wonder if the aircraft had stopped moving prior to the passengers extricating themselves from the interior.
