Well it seems like everyone here at the Academy knows who I am already so I guess it couldn't hurt, maybe later. I got more importaint things to do like prepare for my presintation tommarow. Oh and I got a 90/90 score on my CFII checkride on Friday, so I'm pretty pleased with that. I'll let you all know how that goes.

Thanks....three engine failures, one on takeoff with an associated fire @ V1. A fire while entering a hold, followed by poor vectors bringing us in WAY too close on the approach. The whole time while hand flying that PIG!!! What a chore, but at least it's over...and I won;t have to go to the gym for a while.

Well I got turned down again, although I had somewhat improved from last time but still not what they're looking for. But aparently I am what they're looking for as far as a training first officer goes, so it looks like I'll be off to the Atlanta FlightSafety Training Center to do some work there along with another person was also in my CFI class. Nothing is set in stone yet but with plenty of openings and the toughest part behind me, I feel confident I will get either Atlanta or Orlando which are my first two choices. So who knows maybe I'll land a job flying right seat in a corporate jet in the not so distant future. Initial commentment is 3 months but I hear most get the option to continue and do so until they land a better job somewhere.

So it is both exciting and somewhat sad to be leaving FlightSafety Academy, not that I'll really miss Vero Beach to say, but the many friends I have met durring my time here. But really most people's time here is temporay, just the time spent here varies, a transition zone if you will. Moving is a pain but at least moving to the next state is easier than my last international move!

So this concludes my entries about my training here at FlightSafety Academy, overall I am still very pleased with my experence here and would recomend it to anyone. Although I was ahead of schedule for my comerical and a bit slow with my CFI ratings, it all kinda canceled each other out and I still ended up taking 14months which is what FlightSafety predicted it would take, and I am very close to being right on the money as far as training costs, so quite happy there.

I like to think of this not so much as an ending, but the begining of a career as a professional pilot, getting paid to fly! WOH HOO!

Re: Where\'s Snow?

Well SnowMan,
I am glad you had a good time training at FSA. It is a great school and I know you were trained well. I know it must be a little discouraging not being hired on as an instructor but....... it is their loss. I studied with you when I was there and I know you know your stuff.

Unfortunatley, I believe you have entered a world of politics and that your posts on this site had something to do with it. From what I understand FSA is looking for many instructors right now and I think you should have been one of them. I remember when FSA was hurting for instructors so bad that they would take anyone that had a heartbeat. Alot of those instructors should not have made it through stands. You have done exceptionally well through the program. I know many others that did very well and did not get hired even though they were MORE than willing to wait on the 100++ "wait" list for the call back. Once again...Politics. The list was too long to keep adding to it. With a list of 200+ waiting to instruct, who would come to the school for training right? So why waste the students time interviewing them if you are going to take 1 out of 10?

Let me give you an example of FSA politics..... My neighbor had over thirty yellow sheets (unsatisfactory lessons that had to be done over) during "HER" CIME program. She was hired as an instructor at FSA. Snow, you would have kicked her a$$ all over the field and air but........ you did not get hired and she did. Wonder why????????

Don't get me wrong, I love FSA for the training they provided me and everyone who attends, but I believe you should be judged on your pass rate on all of your ratings for a CFI position. not the a$$ you kissed........ or the lame 15 minute presentation that is nothing close to how you would interact with your student.

PEOPLE PLEASE.... do not respond to my post with an argument. Those of you who know me know I have alway's spoke of FSA in a very positive way. He!!, I have even sent 8 students there that were going to attend other schools until I spoke with them (Snow is one of them). I just can't stand the political bull$hit that unfortunatley goes on in all companies.

FSA is still the best flight training school out there and always will be.....

Good luck Snow.

Re: Where\'s Snow?

Yeah, don't sweat it, Snow. I was rejected not once, but twice. The second time they didn't even give me a reason nor return my phone calls. Best thing that ever happened to me.
