Where are all the "FEBOTS" heading?

I'm pretty much in the same boat however Houston seems to me to be a fairly cheap place to live as I've been here for 8 or so years now. I was also at the NYC PEPC on the 10th. My question to you though is how did you already get a tentative OKC date? Did you already have some sort of security clearance or what?

Hmm, nope, I do not have a security clearance.

Maybe I just got lucky, but they offered me a tentative start date on 8/18 or 8/26 if I remember correctly. I chose the earlier one.

The only thing I could think of, is that since I was one day before you, they were able to fill up the rest of the classes for this fiscal year. Then when you went on the 10th, all the classes were full, so they have to wait until next fiscal year's budget before they schedule you.

Yeah that is weird but I haven't heard of many people with September tentative OKC dates and there are classes starting all the way up to 9/30. I'm hoping those will still be available at the MEM PEPC

I went to PEPC in NY on the 10th and rec'd a TOL with an OKC start date of 9/08. I was even offered a class date before then, but thought it was too soon.

Just got my offer today, selected for a terminal spot in Arizona. :nana2:

WHOA! If this is true, then this incredible news for all those FEBOTS applicants who lost hope already.

BTW, I received an email requesting I fax 3 documents to the FAA (applicant contact, family relation, and declaration for fed employment). However I already received this email before PEPC and submitted the documents. I called the lady listed and she said to ignore this email.
Have any of you also received this email for the second time?

Yeah it gave me the only option of Chicago aug 11-15. I had given up hope and moved onto wishing I would get picked for the pubnat2. What a surprise it was when i opened my email in the morning.

You JUST got your email?? Did it ask you to select a PEPC?

Here comes a "Theory"

I'm wondering if this is a result of other febots declining their offers, which opened up a few spots.

just a theory. . .

I was thinking that too... they probably had a few guys decline their PEPC, or they saw the absent rate at the NYC PEPC, and planned accordingly. (There were a few no shows at my PEPC, judging by the folders still sitting on the table)

I just reserved housing at Spanish Gardens, soonest available is apprx Aug 21, however they'll set you up at a hotel for the same rate for a few days before.

I received this email this morning as well. I emailed the lady that I had already faxed the forms to someone else. She emailed back not to worry if someone already had them. Perhaps a little disorganized.

I was told a few weeks ago when the initial FEBOTS emails were going out that you should hear from the FAA within 60 days of the panels so it seems that lady in OKC was correct. Congrats to those just finding out.

My husband just got his email on Friday requesting information and scheduling a PEPC. I guess they really are still hiring FebOTS people.

My husband received a phone call from OKC today stating they hadn't heard back from him on whether he wanted the job as ATC or not. He told them he hadn't received anything other than an email last Friday. I guess they sent out an email to him about 3 weeks ago but he never received it. They said they would send him another one today. I wonder how many other FEBOTS never received their "you are chosen" email?!?

You're sure the email didn't end up in the trash/junk box? One of my emails was sorted into junk by yahoo... that's anything BUT JUNK!

My husband has me watching the emails and checking the junk mail to make sure we get this email - UGH! I wish he would have thought to take down the name and phone number of the person he spoke with. Would have made it a lot easier to contact if we haven't received the email by 12 MST. The lady told him he should receive it within 20 minutes, that was 2 hours ago!

Greeting fellow FEBOTS. For those of you that chose to not go through the PEPC process, I have some infomation for you. I, just yesterday, got my tentative offer letter and my facility (NY TRACON, by the way). Once that letter comes, it seems as though the process will pick up speed. I took my AT-SAT in April, got invited to LA or Chicago PEPC (couldn't make it), and am now doing the non-PEPC process. If anyone else out there has the choice, go to the PEPC. All I have to do now is get fingerprinted, get my medical and take the MMPI (which is the crazy man test). So I hope this goes quicker and I can get into a class in OKC soon.
