WOoo " Freakin' " Hoooo! Just got back from the NY PEPC and got my TOL and exact location. Houston Itercon tracon!:nana2:Anyone know or heard anything about this facility?!
That's Dunder-Mifflin countryterminal wilkes barre scranton. kinda nice i get to start out small
Well folks, I guess I'm headed to Mather, CA for some hit-the-ground-running action at the NorCal TRACON. Can anyone who is or has worked there give some insight on how the working conditions are? What's the likelyhood of washing out starting fresh out of the academy over there? More importantly, what is there to do in Mather, CA??
Well... at least apartments and homes are MUCH cheaper in Sacramento
I'll have to resort to renting a room...
You'll actually be able to AFFORD to have fun :banghead:
I honestly don't know how you CA guys can even afford to live on controller pay. You'd be better off being a cop/sanitation worker than some facilities. Yeah, your locality rate is up there... but I mean Detroit area is 22-23% IIRC... not exactly much lower.
true the locality increase for CA doesn't make up for the actual cost of living increase. San Diego has lower locality than Detroit, something isn't right with that. I got picked for CA and am hoping for somewhere I can afford to live. I chose CA to be closer to family but would have preferred WI, OR, and IL over 80% of the facilities in CA
Oh and another surprise: the wage at Oklahoma City includes a locality adjustment based on your TERMINAL location. So my OKC pay is $22,591, which includes a 32.53% locality adjustment (for Bay Area prices).
I'll be making a few more bucks at OKC than other trainees... it's not much, but every little bit helps.
Where'd you hear this?
FG-1 base salary.:yeahthat: OKC pay includes the AG base salary (8-9/hr or whatever it is) + your facility locality percentage added on... per diem is separate and will not be including in your TOL or salary
Hmm, true. Good luck in Memphis (your signature says 7/8, you mean 8/7 right?)
At these wages, maybe I'll have to move back home with my parents and commute from there. It's 33 miles one-way, which is nearly the same as driving out to Tracy... :banghead:
It says right on my TOL that the OKC salary includes locality of 32.53% (ONLY in my situation, since I'm headed to a California location with that locality rate. Your OKC locality should be the locality of the facility you will go to later.)
I'm going to Memphis July 24th I just put the month and year in my sig which now that I think about it doesn't really make sense since the only think i've done outside of 08 was starting CTI school.
If you could move in with your parents, maybe do that until you CPC. LVK is a neat facility
