What's up with 9e

Speaking of chimes and Skywest...at least we don't have the 4 chime
My favorite of all the chimes.

The better regional should have more chimes, Mesaba pilots will chime 10 times, Pinnacle 2, Colgan half a chime. When Phil runs people express it should have zero chime, just be surprise you landed.

That's our dumb procedure. The FA's thought it sounded different (or some such similar nonsense) and just like a beaten husband, refusing to voice reason, we simply folded and said ok. The story has been told about 3 separate ways to me, and it would appear that the flight attendants like that better so that's the way we did it.

Blame us.

Yep. We are using Mesaba's way for "airline standardization."

Last I heard there were new hires Scheduled in class into may.

How are we going to get anyone to sign up with all the doom and gloom talk, plus the well of 1,000 hour pilots I would imagine is running dry...serious post, not flaming.

Completely agree but I have heard of people signed up to start then, whether they show or not who knows.

XJT east uses the no smoking chime. Anyways, cheer up guys! Remember, he signs his name with Sean

This coming from the biggest management koolaid drinker of them all?

You'd be proud of our DO, to prove you didn't even need a chime he asks his daughter (age 6 at time?) every time they fly to tell him when the gear go down so they know we are "cleared to land" or whatever the dumb PA is. In flight manager wasn't impressed.

Anyone seen our inflight numbers for cabin appearance? Pinnacle dead last, Mesaba up above Pinnacle within the margin of error. Looked like Republic was topping the list. More proof things are getting worse here.

United told "He who calls himself Sean" to shove it on his Denver bid. I don't think we'll need a ton of any pilots soon. Keep your eyes open who who will be doing all the new American Airlines flying kids, that'll be the place to go next. My bet is Mesa. Anyone?

On the bright side, we should have some answers soon, then we can start on the road to recovery.

I didn't know United told us to pound sand. Are they cutting us out completely, or just one one offer?

Wasn't in on the conference call that day. It's obvious though that Menke is going to continue to low ball every contract and even the airlines won't take a chance because they know we are going into Chapter 11 as well.

Haven't seen the numbers on In Flight appearance, but 9E dead last doesn't surprise me. I'd be surprised if any MEM or ATL FAs are uniform compliant. 90% of the time when I flew out of MEM, they weren't. I don't think cute designs on the fingernails, bizarre hair styles and whatever jacket they found in the closet works well myself. On the flip side, have you seen the non-compliance on the flight ops side? In JFK, I'm still seeing guys flying in their XJ/9L uniforms. Now, I don't know if the company hasn't gotten them their stuff (maybe), they're holding on to the good ole days (possible) or maybe they ran out of clean stuff and it's all the had, but we need to fix that. I saw one guys wearing gold bar epaulets on his shirt and silver bar epaulets on his blazer....and a CA to boot.

As for the chimes, it's confusing the hell out of the FAs. We flew with an ex-XJ FA yesterday and went over the new procedure with him. He even thought it was confusing since he JUST learned the other way. My guess: they didn't even consult the line crewmembers before putting the policy in place. Instead of "This is how FedEx does it" we now have "This is how Mesaba did it."

I just took mine out of the box. It fits fairly well, I might even take the tags off them.

Next trip I will be wearing my black pants most likely, because there is a hole in my blue ones (knee) and the jacket, but I might just wear the grey epaulets because I think I'm Kennedy bound next trip. Company gave us the January 4th deadline, then extended it and told us it was all our fault, I just got my box in the mail. Couple of guys got their boxes and everything is the wrong size. I figure by September we'll have it figured out.

All new hires on the Colgan side are already wearing the black and gold because that is all they have. Im still wearing the silver and blue but if I were to fly with one of these new guys, Id wear the black and gold (regardless of what was allowed at that time.) The least we could do it have the flight deck crew in the same uniform colors. But who am I kidding...silly me and silly ideas.

I see where you are coming from but overall it is my opinion that it is not our job to decide what to wear. I'm not going to care about my uniform any more than my company does.

Memo just came out that they haven't finalized the new "insignia" (translation: no $$$) yet...uniform still on hold, so wear what you are feeling that day...I am wearing my USAirways tie with Colgan wings and a Bombardier lanyard and my Sikorsky 2000 hour tie pin...

F it...I'm comin in with jean shorts and my tuxedo t-shirt, to show off my new Tim Martins tattoo on my inner thigh...

Yeah my choices now are pants with small hole in the knee that'll only expand or toss on the black.

I'll flip a coin but I'll probably just put on the black next time since it's a matter of time. Besides, I'm tired of being confused for a captain still (old coat from the CA days). I don't freaking know anything, ask the other guy.
