Not that I advocate this stuff...I have a hard enough time not getting lost on XCs...
But...
Consider books-on-tape for your Ipod. When I was driving a lot between Dallas and Austin on the weekends, I'd get books on tape to listen to. They really helped shorten the trip.

Possibly the best/unique option yet. I was also thinking of borrowing my little brother's gameboy/PSP lol
