LOL. How dumb of me.
I want to BE that Russian Captain when I grow up. Four minutes and twelve seconds and he doesn't stop yelling for an instant. And banging the yoke around. And probably tossing off shots of vodka. Я тебя люблю!
The old fashioned telephone ringer was a nice touch, too.
I don't speak Russian, but was all that talk related to the flight?
I agree with your post and remember a grad school discussion when the Japanese were taking over seemily. I remember arguing that they can't or won't destroy their own markets. Not true. We never went to war with Japan after WWII... even though Japan filled the roll of China in the 1970s/80s. Anyone remember the books and movies about how Japan was taking over the country? Remember the big hubbub when Japanese bought Rockefeller Center? Ended up being a debacle for Mitsubishi.
Also, with China holding so much of our debt and our economies being intertwined a war would be economically devastating for both sides. While we complain about China holding our debt, it puts them in a tough position if our debt becomes worthless. They have a strong interest in an economically sound US that imports their goods and pays their debts.
I vote with my wallet. If it says made in china, I keep looking Usually.![]()
This thread is depressing. I wonder if I will still be able to get doritos when the new world order comes. Maybe my shotgun and bayonets will become a good investment.Thoughts?
Good point, peripherals I did see, and yes they are made in other places. Are there ANY computers NOT made in China and of Chinese components these days?

Curious here-
Has anybody ever wondered if that for less economically developed countries, conventional or covert warfare is the new way to fight, but for big economic power houses to fight each other, they start with a trade war?
Seems like to pull the plug on China, all we'd have to do is declare all Chinese goods no longer welcome in the U.S. The prices of goods in the U.S. would spin wildly up, the Chinese economy would come to a sudden, screeching halt. There'd be rioting in the streets, people in bread lines, and basically complete breakdown of order.

Economic warfare and protectionism usually hurts both sides. One of the causes of the Great Depression was protectionism throughout the world. Heck, Napolean tried it against England, but it hurt him more than the English. Japanese tried protectionism against us... and they never surpased us economically as many predicted.
