What I Would Do If I Was Not To Become a Pilot...

I have always thought that if could not be a professional pilot I would love being a baseball player or umpire!

I love flying so much I cannot see a future for myself without it...I actually dream about flying a few times a week and it's always awsome.

But if not a pilot I guess I would like to be a soccer player or a rock star maybe a hollywood actor.

Or a marine geologist!

I WANTED to be a rock star...that didn't happen so now it's on to pilot :)

Honestly, I can't see myself doing anything else for a living (crazy as that is), but if things worked out differently, I probably would have stuck with the ramp job at SWA in MCO. If I lost my medical, I'd probably go back to that.

If I hadn't gotten on this crazy track, I'd either be in theme park management (shudder) or teaching history somewhere.

take the test for the lasd and hopefully upgrade to the aero or become a gang or homicide detective.

I know several deputies that left to the 121 world, as well as an LAPD sergeant and two USSS Special Agents. They tell me it's not worth it in the long run. I must say that it's where I'd be if this job wasn't around.

Although I love flying, I can see myself doing lots of other things for a living. I'd enjoy being a high school basketball coach and teacher or possibly a principal.

It could be almost anything as long as it was a career, with lots of upwardly mobile potential that allowed me to be a leader and eventually attain a high level of responsibility.

Being a professional pilot fills a lot of those attributes. The challenge of excelling in a dynamic environment is probably what I enjoy most about the career. The camraderie is good too...the opportunity to work with hundreds and hundreds of likeminded pros. It's unique.
