What happened to the Gulfstream Academy thread? EOM

I greatly appreciate Doug's 'moderation'.

He maintains an amazing site here, and no newly registered Troll is going to ruin it for the rest of us!

(I think nico is the same person who is that obnoxious 'chicksdigpilots' person who shows up on AIM chat sometimes

Obviously "not a pilot"!

Why would a chick dig:

(a) a guy who comes home with the stench of de-icing fluid and jet exhaust?
(b) has these cool pass benefits that you can never use when you're on vacation or on the weekend because the flights are too full?
(c) not being able to plan more than a month in advance?
(d) someone who spends more time with the captain than he does his significant other?
(e) someone whose overnight flight bag is always packed with dirty clothes and still uses his toiletry bag in his own home?

Oh yeah, chicks r e a l l y dig pilots!

Damn, I married a pilot.... why ???!!!!

Of course, he married a flight attendant, which really isn't much better!

(a) always orders "Chicken Caeser Salad" with the dressing on the side.
(b) always reads "People" magazine, but will never admit it.
(c) always tells 'icky old captain that kept wanting to touch my toes' stories (ha ha!)
(d) can smile sincerely, but mentally fantasize about strangling you
(e) loves layovers near Target

Ok, maybe that's a little rough!

But why not keep the thread going? Apparently it was an interesting topic since it provoked a lot interest and a lot of people contributed.

I see moderation as a way of forcing people to stay decent, but not shutting threads down that spark interest.

This reminds me of a Monty Python quote.....

"This place has just censored me."

Everybody:
Shut up, will you? Shut up!

Nico:
Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!

Oh, what a give-away. Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about. Did you see him repressing me? You saw it, didn't you?

Because there is already 50 gigabytes of archived threads that cover the exact same topic.

It didn't stay decent. It became a giant pissing contest and who wants to waste their time with that?

[/ QUOTE ]that's right....now if someone wants to start another one, then go for it... but keep it civilized because if it becomes another flame bait or thread war, it will be "moderated" (ie: deleted) again...

It's doug's show.. he pays the bills, he calls the shots...if he sees a problem, him and the moderators he trust will deal with it.
