WestJet shows there is still a bit of magic left in flying

That has got to be one of the neatest things I have seen in a long damn time! Wow! A little surprise, some joy, some fun and some kindness, all wrapped up in one. Good on WestJet. This is just so full of win!

I realize I'm biased, but this was simply awesome. Talk about earning customers for life. Goes to show there is still just a little bit of magic left in travel yet.

Good work, WJ marketing department!

One debrief item: the use of hatchbacks and sedans seems short-sighted.... Next time.

What kind of flight goes YYZ-YHM?
They don't

Both flights were YYZ-YYC and YHM-YYC (YYC Is WestJet home base)

Both flights are around a four hour hop gate to gate, so WestJet really pulled it off getting all that done in such a short period of time. Although I'm guessing they had most of it on the list well before departure time.

The reactions of the kids was my fave. The looks of surprise, the smiles, laughs and squeals and how big their eyes got when Santa knew them by name, were just the best! I loved the little baby girl in her pink footed onesie with her tiny brow all furrowed up like, who the heck is that? lol

Watching this video again and thinking about airline ads, I realize every airline spends a hefty lump of change on marketing. The decision to do this and award random customers who are probably flying you because you were the cheapest way home in a way that they'll never forget compared to just embellishing your product speaks volumes about the company. Other airlines should take note.
