VNAV, Descend Via and Embray'ers

I was actually chastised by a CKA at our current shop Hacker for doing this very thing. TIMBRS4 into PDX , Left high and fast, cleared for the visual 28R and oh btw look out for the MD-80 landing on the left side. Eff it, I clicked off the AP and hand flew it. It was a beautiful thing. During the debrief I got a lecture on how my knowledge of the automation was "weak" and how come I just didn't FPA it down 3.5 degrees to intercept blah blah blah.. I was astounded....

It wasn't @ATN_Pilot by any chance was it?

Specific! Stop! ;)
I am currently avoiding the place, actually. Traded away a trip to the guy playing the double cheese through displacement game and have 7 blissful days off in which to move, play guitar, cook burgers tonight, and generally screw around.

(Moving sucks but I'm getting good at it.)

Anyway, yeah.

I wish I could avoid SFO but that's next to impossible.

You know you've had too many layovers in one place when the cafe down the hotel has a waitress who says, "let me guess, [nails the exact order of what you are about to get], medium spicy, and water with no ice."

And you know you're a regular when they stop bringing you the menu and just ask what you want to eat.

Do you guys still stay around Coyote Point? (I think?)

It's really not a bad area, other than the stratospheric expense involved in living here (the market will eventually correct or they'll run out of people to make lattes for them, either way...). The airport is "eh" from an operational perspective, but I would rather be based here than ORD any day of the week and twice when it's wintertime.

Yeah we're right by there. Our hotel is actually very close to our HQs. I did live in the Bay Area before the NYC base finally opened up and then I left CA after ~15 months.

Ah cool.

Would join the no-tie team and hang up the "put your hat on" rhetoric to fly bigger airplane with bigger paycheck (and also, 100% more ALPA) while still living here. :)
If I get my bid next month, you better watch out. That big yellow tylenol is gonna be trying to figure out what the hell a Quiet Bridge Visual is. :)
FMS bridge visual works too, in case you can't figure out the quiet bridge. Both are some of my favorites.

Don't forget the Tip Toe to 28L !
