IIRC first year DC9 is about 50k, but I think it may be more with their rigs
The schedule is bid for by seniority...I'm told most can be commutable if you are doing a 2 or 3 leg commute or transcon starting out.
You can crash in the bunks at the airport or get your own crash pad in YIP. I'm told they aren't too bad.
Nothing is commutable at The Jet. Remember: You work for free into 6 hours into your days off. They have you until 6am on your day off. If you fly until 6am good luck enjoying the rest of your "day off".
The bunks at the airport at no longer available commuters. Those were supposed to be for people sitting hot crew in base, not for people commuting. Crashpads are very hard to come by in Detroit now since most commuters at other scheduled airlines have lines, make more money now, and just hotel it at the HoJo near DTW.
