Rumor has it there will be 20 captains retiring this year, and another 20 next year. Not to mention any that may quit in the next few months due to the base closures.

I"m pretty excited - they actually want me to start March 27th!! So no 6 month hiring pool - 2 weeks notice! I am crossing my fingers I don't get anything in NY but we'll just see what happens. I wasn't educated on the concept of gate check in either and my luggage didn't make it for the interview (so no suit) but I did wear slacks and a tie while traveling non-rev and they showed some understanding through it all, doesn't sound like the first time. Hiring test is different but overall not too bad - not too stressful of an interview and the chief pilot seems to be a real down to earth guy. Time to go sleep then cram numbers for ground school! Probably won't be hearing from me for a while!
um....the cliche is "Buy low..." :sitaware:B767 said:US Airways stock (LCC) is pretty high (I believe...I'm not in to the stock market that much) for an airline. It closed today at $34.10, which is the highest of all airlines and groups. Time to start investing![]()
