Why does anyone need to know the salary before they apply anyway? That doesn't come into play unless you get an interview...and you can better assess things, if lucky enough to get that far. I guess if that is your highest priority, UPS might not be a good fit. Which might just be a good thing for the fun group already there. I only met a handful of the group, but anyone would be lucky to work with such a good group of dispatchers. JMHO.

How about you work on getting your first dispatch job rather than giving others advice on their career progression.

I can understand wanting to know if it's someone making a lateral move but that's not usually the case. People applying to a major are most often in a dispatch position at a regional, supplemental or part 91/135 operator, so it's a step up from any of those situations.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "I guess if that is your highest priority, UPS might not be a good fit".

And you're right...we are a pretty awesome group. Lol :D

What I meant was that it seems like someone asking that question is more interested in money than working for a great company. Work environment seems like it should be higher on the priority list. Who doesn't want to look forward to going to work? Even if it means going out on an off day and drinking an entire beer that clearly didn't taste like pumpkin pie. ;) Yes, I forgive you. :p

Everyone has their priorities. To some it's salary. To others it's QOL. And to me, it's both. Best of both worlds here.

Since I knew you wouldn't go for my espresso porter - you non beer drinking freak - it had to be Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. :D

*Sidenote, it was fun getting to meet a handful of fellow dispatchers from here, as well as a few hopefuls. Especially those who jumpseated 3 legs to get here. You know who you are! Round of applause. Let's do it again.

I've not had Arabic food so that's a maybe. But the only other part of that scenario that sounded good was the beer. :D

Perhaps Chitown should be next... Easy to get to as well as great food and beer!

Money isn't everything. But if someone was interested but couldn't take a $30,000 to $40,000 pay cut why waste the companies and interviewees time?

I have taken less money for better qol or more experience. Each person has different reasons to move lateral or to take a pay cut.

That was the main reason I asked.

If you like Porters than you need to try Atwater Brewing's Vanilla Java Porter. My all time favorite beer, I'm a porter enthusiast :)
