There definitely were some Gilligans in the right seat, though...
Gotcha. Thought it was in the article.
Back on topic:
Challenger 300, great choice
Challenger 605, meh...alright I guess
Citation Latitude, betting the farm on something that isn't even flying yet?
What it ALSO means is that FlexJet and Citation Air are done. Recalls at NJA, furloughs or layoffs at the other two. Not that great a deal.
And the man in the article is walking in front of a Gulfstream, not a Challenger 850
Agreed. I'd be curious to see the ratio of 300's to 605's in the firm order. Bombardier is pricing 605's insanely competitive, but the reality of the situation is that the 300 is significantly cheaper over the long-run.
Last I heard NJ is recalling, and it supposed to pick up in 2013. 30 pilots have already said they're not coming back.
To my knowledge, this is unfortunately not true. We haven't brought anyone back from the original furlough, and our number of aircraft in the fleet continues to decline. It seems like the projected recall date for our guys & gals on the street is always "2 - 3 years", and the recent order, while good news, won't really change that. I wish things were a little more rosy here at Netjets, but the fractional business is still trying to find it's way, with more bumps to come.
