Ugly Airliners

The phalcon just looks dirty :buck:

I have to agree...that's overkill for the CRJ.

My vote is this:

I used to really not like the looks of the ERJ family, but now I think they're really sleek and exotic. They have almost a fighter jet like nose. They're some of the more distinctive jets out there...

The Failboat Skip got it right.

A380 should be ticketed everytime it lands for defacing public property.

The one in front of me doing 130 knots on 15 mile final.

If we're expanding the contest to all aircraft, though, I'll have to see if I can't dig up a picture of "Patches", our beloved mu2-35. One brown tank, one gray tank, and all the colors of the rainbow in between. Rumor has it it contains the life essences (and the paint) of at least 3 less fortunate aircraft...

And I know I'm a witch in church on this one, but I sort of like the look of the Airbus nose...receeding chin and all. Without a doubt, the 330/340 is a gorgeous POA (or POS, depending on your disposition). 380 is, of course, hideous. Maybe with the inevitable stretch...

PS. The Piaggio is hotter than a drunk catholic girl at confession. The Beech Schnoz (Duke) certainly has an "aristocratic" nose, but hot?...not so much.

My nomination is this one.

The 380 fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Agreed. The A380 is a piece of french crap. If it ain't boeing, I ain't going.

And the P-180 is amazing, even if it looks like a catfish.

I wonder what the Vmc characteristics would be on the cri-cri. And even if it has any single engine climb performance?

Well, I watched a guy have an engine failure in one and he tried to get over some power lines, ended up spinning and crashing. The thing was continuously descending after the engine failure. Watching somebody die in an airplane is no fun. So from my experience, it doesn't do well on one engine and makes it one of my least favorite.

That could happen in any twin aircraft when it is above it's single engine ceiling.

I vote for the AN-2. It is ugly, but fascinates me. We have one parked across from the school here.

Dude, I have time in the AN-2. Amazing bird by what it can lift. Around 12,000 lbs. I believe. Speeds like a 172.

At an airshow, we put the nose in the wind and all but had her stopped.:D
