UAL pilot gets revenge on the employee lot gate in Denver.

Here's the interesting thing. There are welfare programs out there that are designed to put people from where he's from in a better position in life. But he and people like him are so brainwashed about social programs being bad that they never take advantage of them.

I tell you what. How about cut welfare in just his town? No welfare and no taxes in his just his town. No tax revenue given to infrastructure, to pay the local police and fireman, no taxes to pay the teachers, no taxes for pell grants for prospective students...let's see how far his town goes.
There were people during COVID who literally died to “own the libs” despite treatment being available. Likewise, I’ve read articles about people who will refuse aid because COMMUNISM.

Are we no longer catering to the way a person feels about themself regardless of reality? Or does that only apply to people you agree with politically.

I agree. It's pretty hypocritical to be mad about your struggles while telling others in similar situations that they should be pulling themselves up by their bootstraps. What were you saying when the other side had they complaints?

Hey look, I'm just trying to understand you as a person. I see you. I get you.

People can only feel disenfranchised when you agree with their position, whether that's a United Captain in the Denver parking lot, or some red haired guy in WV.

I'm saying the same about you. What makes you sympathize with these to more than someone from the other side?

Because we have many people in society who without social media ability of posting and likes, would commit suicide.

Could be an interesting social experiment to have it shut all down for an unspecified period of time. Be an interesting spectator sport.

My bet is that there IS some physiological component to SM "addiction" (maybe it shouldn't be in quotes). Some kind of dopamine or other neurochemical release for every click, like or response. Even getting a hit off one like, just a little bit, but constant, day after day for years on end.

Take it away, and I'd bet the reaction would be just like any other psycho-active drug withdrawal symptom, like depression, anger and maybe even violent tendencies. Look how people act when they don't get enough "likes" or some other prevailing viewpoint "trends". They lose their minds.

We stink so bad at other aspects of mental heath, so I'm not sure tickling the dragon's tail on this one is something we want to do.

I laughed hysterically at this. Awesome. The axe should be on display in the terminal encased in glass with a plaque commemorating this event.

Why there are 6 pages, I don't care to find out as I'm sure the answer is rabble rabble.

There were people during COVID who literally died to “own the libs” despite treatment being available. Likewise, I’ve read articles about people who will refuse aid because COMMUNISM.
I don't know exactly when communism stopped meaning what it meant for decades and started meaning what Fox News calls it.

I sympathize with these two because I've been that Capt. And wanted to do what he did. I too feel over taxed for govt programs I don't agree with. We are social creatures. We tend to group with those like minded. The same reason I hang out here instead of some underwater basket weaving forum. I've stated here before I have trouble with empathy. It's hard to see a viewpoint you don't agree with. But originally we weren't talking about me. I didn't marginalize the way a person felt in this conversation.

Do what now?
Which word(s) are you having trouble with? ;)

We've all been where that Captain has been. He's likely tired and frustrated. The difference is that we acted as an adult in that situation instead of having a temper tantrum. I sympathize with his frustration, but not necessarily condone his action. I feel the same way when I see rioters bust things up and set police cars on fire.

We are the people who set those taxes. The "boogie man" "'North of Richmond" is us. We are them. They didn't magically appear out of thin air.

I watched a self-proclaimed militant-'taxation-is-theft' co worker nearly have a full thrombosis when I casually stated that taxes were the price of civilization and then went right back to reading my AOM.

I try not to be a provocative jerk but that one was fun.

GOP "We pay too much in taxes"

Same GOP- "I can't believe Biden only gave those poor people in Maui $700 a piece!"

Better yet...same GOP "Build the wall..."
