UA CA diverts flight after argument with FA

I recently had to deal with a somewhat insubordinate FA. Not to the degree that the flight had to be diverted because of her, but I def questioned her ability to do the job.
On a rather long flight the FA called me in cruise to notify me of a pax disturbance. Aware of the problem I told her that if the situation continued or escalated I would consider diverting. She then basically tell me that there won't be any more problem because she'll miss her commute if we divert. The way I understood it she wasn't going to give me accurate information because she feared my decision negatively impacting on her commute home.
She was a handful all trip, and I know she's been dealt with before by her supervisor. But sometimes you get bad apples up there as crewmembers and it can be a struggle all trip.
