Never have i seen so many people ignore FA instructions to not approach the forward lav during our bathroom breaks, than i did in the days and week after the start of the Iran war. Probably just coincidence, but it made the hair on my neck stand up, As you say, nation state, but one that has an extensive history of sponsoring terrorist groups, and that was before they truly had the motivation to do so. I will say i doubt that the next “big one” will come in the same flavor that 9/11 did, because that would be stupid on their part, but I have been much more aware at those times than i probably was in the past. There are a couple things in the fwd galley that could be improvised killing devices, and I am never more than an arms reach away from them, lest i need to prevent them from being used against me (or another crew member)

Exactly! Never make a big ( easy to second guess ) decision like that by yourself, drag as many others in to it as you can / have time to.

Broader perspective, and so many others to share the load is a priceless commodity that we have available to us in Part 121 flying!
 
The real victim(s) in this whole debacle was the short call reserve crew that went home as soon as the last flight launched out of the sEWeR and probably got an "out of position" after the orig crew was (probably) pulled and went home with pay.
 
I thought I read or heard it was a kid that had a blue tooth speaker with the brand name tiBombx or something similar and the ID was factory set. There's a lot to facepalm about this story but second guessing the crew for returning seems odd. I don't blame them at all, they had a 767 full of people to worry about. Getting into the news for being conservative due to an obvious but unknown threat should be applauded rather than ridiculed. Or maybe they should have linked up to it and had it play Hotel California on repeat all the way to Spain (assuming one of the crew is an Eagles fan).
