Turbine PIC Multi or Single?

The part 121 SIC time will account for 1500 hours of turbine time and EFIS experience. I know companies like netjets and shares really like the Glass time and CRM training.
In no particular order, here is my take. Whatever pays the bills but with reasonable compensation. With respect to NJA, I'm sure you are aware we have 480 guys on furlough, so it may be a few years until we hire off the street again. Glass is nice, but not required/expected. Two pilot crew is good, but not mandatory. As long as the mins squares are checked, I don't think SE Turbine will matter. Customer service skills are regarded highly. Caravan freight will build good flying skills but Caravan pax will give you some customer service skills. 135 provides better CS skills than 121. We used to want plenty of multi crew/multi engine PIC because of fast upgrades. No that upgrades have moved beyond 5 years, it doesn't carry the same weight. As Mike said below....I'd get the PIC time.

NJA_Capt,

Thanks for the insight. I'm currently flying 135 pax in cabin-class piston twins. Is that kind of time more desirable for hiring purposes than 121 turbine SIC based on the work you do? The biggest issue is that I have about 1000 hours 135 PIC with passengers, but every single bit of it is piston...

I'm looking at the possibility of being recalled back to the right seat at a 121 regional, but frankly, that doesn't appeal to me at the moment.

That's probably the $64,000 question. Since you have about equal times in both turbine and PIC, it is probably a wash. In the past, we have hired guys with "0" turbine time, but lots of multi-piston. We've also had 20,000 hr heavy 121 PICs not make it. Most of it is how you present yourself in the interview.

Thanks for the insight. Yes, I am aware of all of the furloughs. Many of my close friends got the ax there. I was more so just using a fraction as a generalization to see if someone would post like you just did. Thanks
