ATP doesn't just offer the inst/comm, it comes with the private multi-engine rating (another $2200), and instructor certs (another what $4000?)
That's another $6200, plus the training materials that are a part of ATP's cost that aren't in yours, that's another $500+ . . .
. . . $33,000 approx. May still beat ATP, but Ari is less.
At any rate, for those looking . . . look at every possible angles. Some who have taken the FBO route have wished they went academy while others were glad they did the FBO route . . . some who went academy wished they went FBO while others don't regret their decision.
My point is there are many variables and just figure out which one will work for you both present and future wise.
