Congrats dude!

...
I'm quite glad I dumped Facebook.

Congratulations man, it's a flipping cult.

I think people have had less social upheaval leaving Scientology than they've had when they try to leave Facebook.

Text: "DUDE (NAME) BLOCKED ME ON FACEBOOK, CAN YOU SEE HIM?"
Me: "I don't know man, who cares?"
Text: "IS HE MAD? DID HE SAY ANYTHING?"
Me: "I don't know man, who cares?"

"I can't afford to leave Skywest and go on new hire pay. Besides, I got weekends off and haven't worked Christmas in six years…"

I hear this from just about every senior captain I fly with. Even if you stay an FO, you'll make up the pay 2nd year, and with the amount of hiring happening right now, you'll probably have the schedule back by the fourth or fifth.

Idiots!

Less competition for you. And less headaches for me.

My schedule bidding 97% in category at SJI was the same qol wise as when I was bidding 6% in category at the regional

They don't get it. They see that there was 15-20 year FO's at one point in time, and how stagnant the list was/is at our shop, and equate that to the entire industry. Seems like the older people get, the more disconnected from reality they become.

That's why I don't want them in the right seat here. Would most likely make for a very long trip.

"Hey, this is 'Frank', he's new with us. He is going to shadow me on my brief"

"Well, I'm not new, I spent 18 years as captain at Mesaba"

Amount of people who gave a poop: Zero.

#TrueStoryBro
Just flew with someone who was telling me about "that guy" in his new hire class who wanted to argue about everything and how "at my old company" they, apparently, did it better.

My response was/is always, "this is not your old old company, this is your new company. You're more than welcome to go back to your old company if your please." I get the last part may come of snarky, but it conveys the point nicely.

Famous quote from one of our instructors: "Science has yet to develop an instrument that can measure how little we care how it was done at your last airline".

Yes.

I love that!

I had an FO complain about how often we change cabin crews and "At XYZ we'd keep the same cabin crew the whole trip!"

"That's great, when we get to Orlando, ask to see their pairing and tell me if you're happy keeping the same cabin crew"

And he did.

Never heard another peep.
