TRIP REPORTS

Your guys' user names are confusing - you just missed out though mate. I do not regret spending the money I did, I could have easily spent that on a night of normal partying, at a casino, or just do other things in Vegas. Spanking strippers is way cooler then that!

I'd just like to point out that I was no where NEAR Iain and the strip club. Kelly=montanapilot. If I had been there, I might have made an attempt at stopping you from spending what amounted to rent money on strippers. I was too busy getting blasted at a karaoke bar, though.

yeah it got a few people confused over it this weekend.
Kelly=Montanapilot, Steve=kellwolf.

But i must say all you gents that missed the strip club missed out on a hell of a good time.

I've finally got time to post my weekend report.
The girlfriend (Giselle) and I arrived in Vegas at Midnight on Friday, went to the hotel, and got "dressed to impress" as we were heading out to meet everyone at Studio 54. Well, after several phone calls we found out that the plans had changed, and the group was at NFI in N.Y. We decided to head there to meet everyone, but before we found them, Giselle was getting uncomfortable with some of the stares at her. (She was dressed on the "wild" side for the Studio 54 scene, not for walking through a casino. Nothing too crazy, but a VERY short mini-skirt, black leather boots to just below the knee, and a skimpy shirt...) Well, we were soon back in a taxi on the way to Studio 54, where we had a great time, and she was much more comfortable there.

Saturday, woke up at 10:01, and got to the free breakfast just as it ended. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif Then I called Delta to check on our flight for midnight that night and found out it was cancelled due to Hurricane Jeanne. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buck.gif I got our room for another night, rebooked for midnight Sunday on Delta, and decided to head over to the Hard Rock Casino. We spent the afternoon at the pool there, absolutely beautiful. Back to the hotel for the Network JC meeting, then we took TonyW's advice and went to Nobu for dinner. The sushi was as described, amazing! (Thanks, Tony!) We had some time before the karaoke started, so we hit the blackjack tables, and I walked away $190 richer.

We went to the original karaoke bar to meet up with the group, but were there too early, and after hanging out for an hour the long weekend started to catch up to us, and we headed back to the hotel (after one more stop at the Hard Rock Casino. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Sunday consisted of breakfast at the San Remo buffet, lunch at Noodles in Bellagio, and dinner at Luxor. We caught the Cirque du Soleil show "Zumanity" at New York, which we both thought was an awesome show. Tickets were a little pricey ($85), but hey, my blackjack winnings paid for them! Spent the rest of the night at Caesar's Palace, and then back to the airport for our red-eye to Ft. Lauderdale.

Due to our late arrival and some bad timing, we didn't spend much time with the group, but we did have some laughs with Iain, JDFlight, Lloyd, Omar and others, and I had some great career discussions with Bumblebee, PSCraig, and Ex208driver. Thank you Doug and Kristie, and we can't wait for the next event!

I didn't get to spend much time with them, but Rick and Giselle were good people. Wish you could have made it out with us, man.

I finally have time to do more than just read some posts. First I just have to say how fortunate I feel to have found this crew. Winnie and I had a great time meeting every one we could possibly meet. The great thing is there are more to meet yet!

Our trip went a little haywire the week before NJC. I had originally planned to fly down to Vegas in a rented Seminole but the other pilot bagged on me and I couldn't find a replacement so Winnie and I flew SWA. We arrived and checked into our hotel at 5:30 on Friday. First was a nap, then dressed for the club. I was very happy when Doug and Kristie called an audible to find a quieter place to hang the first evening. When the women posed for the photo overlooking NYNY I was standing next to the women who said CHEESE! OO (while lifting her top) if you know what I mean /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buck.gif

That night was great, talking to everyone there was like hanging with old friends.Winnie and I were very comfortable with everyone.

The event was very well done. The holloween gift bags were very cool, and the carrier landing deck was was awesome! Everyone got into that. My wife even caught the third cable. (Oh . . . by the way Russ(FL270), how do I get my resume to you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif . . .)

We went to Ellis Island for the Kareoke but the people there were rude and the vibe was not very friendly. So Winnie and I decided to grab some dinner at Bourbon Street. As we walked in there was a nearly empty Kareoke bar going on! I called Lloyd and he said he would pass the word. We made the hosts night by filling up a third of his room! ( He called me the Pied Piper of Las Vegas! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) We had to leave early (1:30a.m.) because we had a 0615 call to go fly out to the Grand Canyon on Scenic Airlines. OUCH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif OUCH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gifOUCH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Smilecrunch.gif

My friend is a pilot for Scenic and hooked us up big time. He was even the PF for the trip out. I had never seen the Grand Canyon before and it was truly amazing. That evening we caught the Rat Pack Tribute with a live 11 piece orchestra and guys who really were channeling the greatest show ever in Vegas . .Old School Style.

Winnie asked me to pass along her appreciation for the kind people she met this weekend, and said NJC Vegas is on our calender for years to come.

I want to thank you for the coolest raffle prize I won since I won a green Shwinn Stingray in 1969 at the local gas station. I am busy planning a x-c with my student to see the Alteon Facility while hooking up with a couple of my fellow instructors for the sim ride.

Long Live Jetcareers!

Sorry about the Studio54 change guys!! we had a much larger group than I had signed up and just thought it would be next to impossible to talk to eachother - which is why we decided on another venue. 9FI seemed to work out pretty good and we'll probably be doing that next year...

next year, we'll have our rear's in gear! hahaha

I have to admit though that it was nice to get dressed up and nice to see everyone dressed up!! Not often doug and I do that! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
