TRIP REPORTS

Oh and one more note, there were not any political debates! I couldn't believe it! The closet we got was a few of us having a super civil discussion up in the room on Saturday night.

Thankfully though, we did finally get a good picture of me and Russ (FL270) in our respective party's shirts. Proof yet again that dogs and cats can live together.

I was so nice to meet all of you and to put names with faces- this was a great get together - we didn't know any of you prior to this and everyone was so friendly and sociable! Someone mentioned that the aircraft game should be used as the sim ride at Chatauqa (or however you spell it!) Airlines - wouldn't that be a sight!! Thanks again!

[/ QUOTE ]she was a cutey too JD.. what happened with that anyways??? get a number at least from any one of the girls you met this past weekend? I agree with Tony, JD's got MAD Skillz!

I did, but it moved pretty quickly. What killed me was the fact you have to take a tram from there to "D". I sprinted up to the gate just in time to see the prop on number 2 start to spin up. And the agent had my card in hand. I would have made it on as standby.

[/ QUOTE ]ohhh man, that must've SUCKED big time!!! then sitting in the airport all day and THEN driving home? sheesh....I dunno how you did it on zero sleep!! Doug and I almost decided to stop at the hacienda casino (before hoover dam) cuz we were sooo tired! the line going across hoover dam was so long, it took us an hour just to get over that.. then another 3-4 back to phx....

Kristie, let me put it this way. The only thing I remember between Tulare and here last night was waking up at least five times and swerving back into my lane. Dangerous and stupid end to a great weekend. When I finally got home, I'd been up for 36 straight hours.

John, I did think about that, but it's not your fault. If I'd anticipated security better and left that chick in the dark corner of the Mandalay Bay just 10 minutes earlier, I'd have called you guys earlier and we'd all have made it.

Oh yeah. Kristie, it's Vegas. I don't come home from Vegas with numbers unless the girl blows me away. Just not the place for it.

man i think that was the biggest problem was that none of us anticipated that many people leaving vegas at 8:30 am on a sunday morning! That and at least in detroit, security is a cakewalk. 5 min line tops.

and, we both REALLY appreciate you waking us up. we wouldn't have woken up until like noon otherwise since we were both so tired and we would have been in a big world of sh*t then!

There's a case of good beer here for you in December!

Some of the longest security lines I've ever seen have been on Sunday mornings. It's people heading home after a weekend away.

If you're in uniform and can cut to the front it's a non-issue, but I'm one of those paranoid people who always leaves too much time for the security lines and gets to the gate like an hour before departure /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

New name change Em...your short only in height not in endowment....they were very nice and real /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

FINALLY! Able to post something about the trip! I had a fantastic time and really enjoyed meeting a bunch of JC folks in addition to everyone I already had the pleasure of knowing. We've really got a great group around here.

Left IAH Friday morning on United to SFO (no seats in first, boo hoo ... stuck in coach). Got bumped off one SFO-LAS Ted flight, then wound up in the second jumpseat on the A320 on Ted to get there about 1PM. Gotta say there's nothing like seeing Vegas for the first time from the front office, even if I wasn't doing the driving! Met Kellwolf & wife, John, Emily, Seggy, TonyW, and MontanaPilot at the airport, off to the hotel for some socializing and then a great dinner at Nobu! Great job setting that one up, Tony. Hit 9FI then Kelly and I bailed to hit the casino. Won $30 Friday night at MGM Grand before calling it a night.

Saturday was a little breakfast before hitting the casino ... I let Doug and Kristie teach me craps ... BAD IDEA!! Lost all my previous night's winnings and then some ... was doing the "rabbit ears" with my pants pockets by the time we left the Excalibur. The main event was OUTSTANDING ... really enjoyed meeting and talking with everyone. After that, Lloyd's truly inspired idea to hit the In-N-Out Burger ... my first one and it was good!! Unfortunately had to bail on the strip joint adventure to hit the airport for the redeye Saturday night.

Got on the LAS-CVG redeye on Delta (with Bill and Amber, who with their MUCH higher pass class got first while I was stuck in steerage ... again). Stuck in the no-recline row with a POS (passenger of size) next to me ... got very little sleep. Tried to find a spot to snooze at CVG during my three-hour layover without success ... every chair in the airport has arms on it!! Then a quick flight to CMH where I escaped to the crashpad for a two-hour nap before going to ... WORK! Had to fly four legs last night then two today. Finally getting to check out the news on here!!

A super event all the way! Many thanks to Doug and Kristie for putting it all together and to everyone who made the trip for making it all so much fun. For those who didn't come you missed out on a heck of a good time!

Oh, wasn't that something? Those old guys weer some regulars!

I'd just like to point out that I was no where NEAR Iain and the strip club. Kelly=montanapilot. If I had been there, I might have made an attempt at stopping you from spending what amounted to rent money on strippers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I was too busy getting blasted at a karaoke bar, though.
