Trans States to GoJets

Doubtful.

Today, everyone's hiring, tomorrow may not be the case.

If I were a TSA captain with a degree, ---->like I ALWAYS plead for you guys to get in order not to limit your career opportunities<---- I'd be bugging the bejezsus out of FDX, UPS, DAL, CAL, NWA, UAL, etc for a job instead of bothering with a strategic lateral move.

My opinion only.

Why would you be at TSA for longer than a year anyway?

As I understand it, one of the few reasons I've heard to stay is upgrades in about 10 months to a year. As Doug and Velocipede said, forget environment, your at the regional to upgrade, get your time and get the hell out and at this point, I agree. Better to get it where you can and go to bigger better things anyways. :rawk:

And what happens if hiring stops? You're stuck miserable for ??? years.

The same argument you made can be made for going to GoJet also...

Well gee thanks for crushing my dream Chris:rolleyes:. lol, I suppose at that point seriously, you would hope your seniority number would save you a lot of misery. Can't say that it would be in me to stick with Gojet though to be 100% honest.

I know that when you're "planning everything out" you only spend 3 years at a regional then you get out...

But if that were the case, there would not be "lifers" at the regional level. Things happen and sometimes those things put you at your present position for a lot longer than you envisioned.

Yeah, and I figure it would take longer, I was counting more like 6 or 7 but like you said and you're absolutely right, after getting into the buisiness of flying, you realize everything changes overnight, so I think its best to just roll with what you have, adjust and go from there.

Agreed, but in a stagnant industry like it was in 2002, there's no movement whatsoever.

Now your choice is support your family by flying for GoJet or go get a $25K job using the Business Admin degree.

And if you go fly for GoJet you'll be stuck there or others like it for the rest of your life anway.

Incorrect. Some GJers have moved on to UPS and COA, I believe.

/not condoning it but the "hype" may just be wrong.

hmm.... I have to admit being somewhat dissapointed in hearing that.

Stabbing other pilots in the back is something that really bothers me...

"Some GJers have moved on to UPS "

I only know of one. We have more scabs on the property than that.

There is no doubt that your background/experience/networking will play a bigger part than "where you worked" to those in management. That's no reason to discount or ignore what Gojet is and how they came about.

It's like saying "A Gulfstream guy got hired at UPS, so PFJ must be okay". I really don't think so....

I never said it was okay, I simply said it happens. And having more scabs than gojetters on property is something worth bragging about for sure!

So basically I'm dispelling the rumor of "YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET ANOTHER JOB !1111111" that some are saying. However, at the same time I do not condone the action.

That's a good idea since scare tactics don't really work. They find out part of what you were saying wasn't true, then disbelieve everything.

You may receive a paycheck but you will never see your family. People seem to forget that they don't have a contract. Those guys deserve everything they get over there.

So I'm guessing the general thought is if going to TSA ride it out while it's still TSA and ditch if fipped over to Gojet I take it. Any JC'ers at TSA now? What is the Scarlet letter BTW?

I've been at TSA for some time. I highly recommend that you don't work for Gojet. PM me for detail if you would like.

I'd rather make $10,000/yr working at McDonalds than become a GoJet pseudo-SCAB.

My last jumpseat ride on GoJet had a rather interesting flight crew:

Former TWA pilot as Captain, 20-year old FO graduated from ATP. Can only imagine the conversations that go on in that flight deck. The FO probably doesn't realize the pot of gold he was flying with!
