Time flying to the practice area

No, you guys just seem to want some warm and fuzzies. Just a by-product of the "everyone gets a medal" "Lake Wobegon Generation". Heaven forbid if someone is criticized or told how to improve. Which get's me to another rant- CFI's who just sit there and don't teach. Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings you know. When in the world did THIS start????
If you want a warm and fuzzy I attached an image for you. You can order this so in the future when you feel hurt by something someone writes on the internet you can hug it.

Never once ordered a warm fuzzie from you. Don't need or want it. I like rational discussions and you seem to be one of those blow-hards who didn't get enough hugs from their father when you were younger. Your typing is angry and reflective of a person who's been burned a time or two. For the record, I was never hurt by anything you wrote. Can't even make this stuff up....oh wait, you did.

You really are going to bring my Dad into this???? Listen (description deleted), my father fought in WWII and saw over 700 men in his division killed in one day. He put all that behind him and raised 7 kids, put us all through college in spite of being out of work for much of the 70's (which put this recession to shame). Three of us are executives for major corporations; one is an airline pilot; two are teachers; i teach flying. They taught us to swim as soon as we could walk; as soon as we could swim they taught us to sail; as soon as I could sail he put me on a boat by myself and told me to go to Long Island Sound and back, and get back before dark. He was the epitome of the Talmud saying "Parents, teach your children to swim".
He made almost every game I ever played in. Was there every moment I needed him until he died. Never cheated on my mother. Gave so much to the community that when he died hundreds came to his funeral. Did not ask for squat from anyone, yet in spite of being under employed left my Mom a nice nest egg when he died that made her set through her life.
And you (description deleted) have the audacity to bring him into this????
He has nothing to do with this. My problem is seeing student after student with CFIs who are stealing oxygen, just occupying space until they build their time and grab the next brass ring. I have no problem with a person aspiring to do something else. I do have a problem with CFIs who pretty much steal from students, and if you are sitting in a seat but not teaching due to some lame excuse then you are stealing. Don't like a spade being called a spade? Again, go cuddle up with a stuffed animal and cry.

I have no problem talking/asking questions about things while going out to the practice area. I was just not comfortable doing maneuvers, while flying over one particular practice area especially. The guys following me aren't expecting to catch up suddenly while doing slow flight, and they're definitely not expecting someone to be circling. The one practice area ceiling was busted all the time as well. This same practice area, a quarter could be placed on the Approach's scope and cover 15 airplanes. It has nothing to with being lazy, I just wasn't comfortable with it. That was 3 years and 3000 hours ago. Maybe I'd do it different these days.

UND did have a policy about doing not doing anything within X miles of the airport, at which point you were almost to the practice area anyways.

I fly freight, I don't need any fuzzy things or hugs, and no, I didn't get a trophy for being on a losing soccer team...
