Time "all clear" to "fol"

Wow.... judging by what people are saying here it may be a while......

I wonder if terminal or enroute tends to take longer/shorter than the other
 
I found out today that I have had my all clear since the end of August and I still have no date or FOL:panic:. I went to the Chicago PEPC and am going to ZAU. I have not even been able to get in touch of my HR rep (no returned calls or even returned e-mails in months!) I called and talked to someone else today and found out about my all clear.:banghead:. I hadn't heard anything for 3 months. This sucks!
 
I think they either need more HR reps or they need to find a better way to organize all of this. I will give them a little credit since they have never had to hire so many people at one time (at least in the past 30 years), but they really should have planned for this a little better.

wow, that sucks. That means I will have to retake mine by February.

Guess I'll have to lay off the smack :buck: :sarcasm:
 
So you have to get your FOL within 6 months, or you have to start at the academy within 6 months of original test?

From my hypothesis, I would say its "start the academy" because I have no FOL but I have a tentative class date and based on that info I drew my conclusion. Also, you're an official employee once you arrive at the academy because of one thing...

got another class date offer yesterday. nov 25th but again had to turn it down, i hope this isnt gonna bite me in the ass

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. If you've done it for a good reason I'm sure they'll be understanding, and ATC experience is a pretty hard thing for them to pass up right now. I'm sure they'll be knocking again. Have you talked to them about dates that do work?

Dang, you would have been in my class! A whole thread was started for Nov. 25 enroute class date and only two other people have replied... might be kind of cool if it is a small class!

Except that maybe 90% of the people hired don't post on this forum :)

In an email from my HR rep today:

I wrote:


I have heard rumors the classes are full for the next year... is that true? Do you have any vague/estimated idea as to when I might get to go?


And he said:

Just remember that rumors are just that...rumors. We're filling classes everyday of the week. For the terminal side of the house, the process has changes now so that we, the HR specialists, are no longer assigning the class dates based upon when we get an applicant fully cleared, rather the air traffic organization is assigning class dates to better balance facility needs.


So those of us sitting around waiting are probably just heading to facilities where the need is not as great.
 
Additionally, since this is all dependent on staffing levels- does anyone have that link that shows the staffing levels at all facilities? I used to have it but got a new computer and didn't transfer my bookmarks.

I've been looking on this website but can't seem to find it ehere either- please help. I did look.
