This is almost kinda funny... a DCA student!

We all go through our dork stage! I know I sure did. Lasted most of high school and some of college. But you get out of it. Some wise up faster than others. Some may think I'm still in my dork days... like my girlfriend.

I've found that people are far more impressed when you don't brag about your flying, and it just comes up.

It's far more cool when it comes up as, aww, shucks, it's no big deal.

Old story from Riddle. We were out at a bonfire party in Chino Valley and this student, complete with the leather "Top Gun" flight jacket was talking to this blonde.

This was 1989 so don't think he was a complete dork for having a Top Gun jacket.

Anyway, he's telling this blonde about how he's an FA-104 student, how he almost crashed once and how he heroically saved the aircraft, yadda yadda yadda. You know, trying to put the 'hero pilot' swing on his attempt to woo the girl. He's top of his class, going to fly F-15's, etc.

Back in the old days if we were going to play the "I'm an aviator" card honesty was always the policy. We admitted up front we were with Eastern.

Damn I miss guys on the seniority list like Mickley!

Ah, tomcatter.

You gotta just love people like that!

Didn't we have a US Airways 757 captain who had never been to Pittsburgh or something?

Sheesh.

Sure did!

"I...I...I...bid around those Pittsburg trips...."

Dude! I forgot about that kid. He was actually the topic of conversation and much ridicule at the Olive Garden in Kissimmee......

I see you guys really appreciate authentic Italian food there in Kissimmee!

Um, there IS authentic food not part of a chain restaurant anywhere near Orlando? I mean, ya know. One poor CFIs and flight students can afford.

I did eat at Charley's a couple of times when my wife scored stacks of gift certificates at her hotel.

I'm still a dork....but at least I'm a rich dork.

Who's seen Napolean Dynamite? Now there's someone I identify with. And that movie was so 80's...I identify with that, too.

wow DCA's taken another step further to advertise themselves. That or their marketing is so good that it even got to his head that he will be hired in 8 months by a DE carrier.

Ahh TomCatter, that kinda makes me feel nostalgic, like asking where GiantsFan has gone. We miss him

I guess he has changed his profile...

Man I looked all over Italy when I was there and couldn't find an olive garden to save my life. I thought the Italians would appreciate good Italian food.
