"Oh good. One less negative pilot on Facebook."Story time?
I mean, I truly expect nothing less from the CRJ side of the house.

DEN CRJ (presumably DMA, too), what a country.Ah, yeah I just saw that. Geeze. I bet he wonders why he can’t move on as well.
I am genuinely excited, although it still feels very odd to be - however temporarily - unemployed.Whatever. Congrats again dude! I’m genuinely happy for you! You deserve it.

I mean, mountain west, your guess is as good as mine.Yeah, I flew with him at some point. He’s not very senior right?
Apparently, "someone" in Denver CRJ does not.
Hey I was on the CRJ for a while.....hehe.Ah, yeah I just saw that. Geeze. I bet he wonders why he can’t move on as well.

Oh, yes.Check airman?
Boy isn't that the pinch. Some say marinating at your regional, upgrading on a jet you already have thousands of hours on, is not desirable. Some say get the PIC and hang in there. Thing is, how many RJ captains are out there trying to move up.....just another RJ guy.
I dont mind my life here at Air Moroni but I sure dont want to bet my career on it. Make the check match the paint seems a reasonable interim goal.
There really is no way to know-it's a crazy business.

We miss you already.
True, however upgrading means a commute cross country, likely 2+ legs, and getting back west of the Rockies in at least a year to sit reserve, for more years, for less pay than a second or third year FO at a ULCC, with a chance to upgrade on the heavier jet. All at a regional whose management steadfastly refuses QOL improvements, pay increases or any commuter assistance. Period. All the while shrinking west and mountain west bases, forcing a huge number to commute. If one does plan to leave for greener pastures. I'd upgrade and at least get 1000 PIC at your regional. Before going to a ULCC for the new type and more money.
Nope, would have been cool though!Did you two ever get to fly together? Probably not, right? Different bases and all.

At some point, the writing is on the wall, you have to just read it. I get your point, but I'm not sure putting off making a move is worth sticking around just to be yet another RJ captain with 1000 pic.
Of course, I'm probably totally wrong....

I kinda think you're going to be better off for a legacy too, but who knows. If you're at Envoy or something...bottom line. Who knows.Eh... it depends on the person I guess. If a person is dead set on a legacy airline you might be right. However if you would be happy at a ULCC for your career I say go asap. If I would have stayed at my regional for 1000 pic I would just be reaching it about now but instead I'm probably less than a year from upgrade on the Bus for much greater pay and QOL as well as better equipment. Different strokes for everyone but I'm happy I jumped ship. Making 200K+ with only 3 years of service sounds nice![]()
You're a lot better off doing years at XYZ puddle jumper regional and looking like a well rounded person (getting in as an instructor or LCA, union duties, volunteer work, things outside of work) than doing a year or two at a regional, a year at another one, hopping over to Western Global, doing a year, going to some other ACMI, and then looking back in 8 years having never added a fourth stripe and just have a few type ratings and a bunch of explanations for why you left job after job. From what I've heard you're better off building PIC time at your regional than jumping ship numerous times to say you flew this type and this type.

Did he have the shiny gold name plate that had his name and "Checkairmen" under it. lol. Its almost as if they puffed their chests out further wearing those things.Oh, yes.
I decided to imagine, not knowing this twerp from Adam in real life, him at about 5’4”, and one of those super-fit, super-overcompensating mountain west types who infest the program.Did he have the shiny gold name plate that had his name and "Checkairmen" under it. lol.
