Things are not good at ASA.

Interesting to watch the airline infighting from an outsider's perspective. It's not only company versus company, but even guys within the same company claw and scratch at each other.

Fascinating!

You should try being surrounded by it week after week.

Like I always half-jokingly say, they need to allow part 121 pilots to hit the water bong to loosen 'em up a little.

Are you mad that they changed the ourasa.com privileges for furloughees?

I'd have to agree with Bama, well said; It's a job. As for me my family is my life.

Not really man, was actually expecting some positive things coming from those active still. . .but. . .not seeing any of it really. :( Rather, it seems we shouldn't talk negative about the company - gasp. Had heard a great deal of garbage and disgusting bits of news coming from my small (as I indicated) sample group, was expecting perhaps a few of the positive thinkers to tell those of us who are furloughed a little bit of other news. Guess my attempt backfired. So be it.

Can't argue with family being #1.

I do know that reserve coverage for today and tomorrow for my sear is/was in the very low single digits. And that one F/O I ran into today was met at the gate by the CP to let him (a lineholder) know he was being extended for a round trip. And the weather in ATL was great today. Imagine what it would be like if the weather was bad. I suppose we will get to find out sometime layer this month as all but 3 days are red arrow days.

Crew planning has dropped the ball.

But hey, it appears you can't even have an honest discussion as you want to remind us furloughed guys that we're not longer part of the company, much less our input concerning the situation there is considered null and void in your eyes. All the best bud.

Some people like to be trolls. I always find it interesting when a guy who's never been furloughed thinks he knows what it's like and tells you how you should behave.

I've heard similar rumblings, but I think the company still has plenty of wiggle room, even without PBS. My guess is if PBS passes, things go smooth - if not, expect reserves to be worn thin and junior mans to become a wide spread norm. Then the company will try to sell PBS again to 'fix' the new problem.

It's my understanding that they are already trying to sell it as the "fix." They being management and our outgoing MEC.

Pardon the dumb question....but last I thought, a furloughed pilot for X carrier is still a pilot for X carrier? Said furloughlee is still an employee, last I knew. Am I wrong? If I'm right, why the animosity then?

You're right.

Kinda sorta. Ask any furloughed pilot what their status was when a merger occured. Stapled because "they didn't bring a job to the merger."

They have recall rights, but that's not the same as being an active employee.

Like Green Hall said, the company would say "not an employee". However, there exists a recall "agreement" via the CBA. If you followed legal channels (not being a lawyer, I'd like to know more about this), I'm betting when push came to shove there would have to be a determination of "employee or NOT" and the answer would be "well...no".

Wow...did he really just say that? I'm definitely at the next Jetcareers get together...

For the others: Come on guys, knock it off already, would ya? It's fecal material like this that keeps me away from FI.com.
