Things are not good at ASA.

Rumblings about are that the company furloughed out of convience, not surprised. . .but the basis for this claim is now the whole understaffing related to reserves on both categories, combined with trying to run another base (potentially two), and the poor trip construction currently being utilized that is giving pretty much 95% of the line holders consistent four day trips.

What's worse, is that a CP has confirmed the information regarding the furlough reasoning, and that the company is going to continue to run understaffed through the summer time - with or without PBS.

I must say, I really feel for you guys now. Guess the concerns about fatigue don't mean much either, since there is not enough reserve coverage to even handle sick, irop, and vacation scenarios.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

1. How would you know what the situation at ASA is? Also, how are you getting anything confirmed from a CP?

2. We will be 6 planes short this summer so we are about 30 short for the summer if it is as busy as last summer. Also, you have no idea what the block hours look like for the summer.

3. If they upped the block, then we would have more reserves and be able to handle an IROP easier, however I haven't heard of them canceling flights due to lack of crews.

4. If we vote in PBS (which i am not voting for, but have heard lots say they will) we will not be understaffed at all.

I'll let you use that wonderful thinking device in your skull to figure out how Im able to get information concerning the situation at our company.

You have heard of telephones and bars where people might meet and socialize right?

FWIW, I think the change from 9:45 to 9:00 scheduled rest as a minimum would not work in the summertime. Scheduled for 9 will quickly slip to 8:15 minutes from when the door opened when CBs are introduced to the 'alternate crew pairing model'. This will cause delays.

Highly doubt that will be SOP by the summer.

I'll agree that PBS isn't being sold well, at all. We are simply giving up too much, forever, to get too little in return, IMHO.

So talking to your 3 jaded friends at the bar. I'm sure that's a great source of info.

Well, I don't really consider an asst. CP to be jaded - just surprised by his honesty.

Now, my subject group is indeed a small percentage of the pilot group, but it does range from the 12 year CA, down to the guys who are riding reserve.

But hey, it appears you can't even have an honest discussion as you want to remind us furloughed guys that we're not longer part of the company, much less our input concerning the situation there is considered null and void in your eyes. All the best bud.

Agree completely. I'm sure there will be several reduced rest overnights next month that the crew will be unable to accomplish their next day. I can't figure out this whole PBS thing. Seems like company is drooling all over PBS and the union doesn't want to touch it, then like magic, the union is all over PBS and the company couldn't care either way.

That couldn't be further from the truth. I'm just wondering how you have the info to post controversial and negative things about the company when you definitely haven't been in the lounge. I just see a pattern in your 14000+ posts where you continually put words in other mouths to make them seem bad and you seem good. Kinda reminds me of a black person pullin the race card........

Oh I see. Great utilization of your one source to formulate your impression of me.

You live down on the south side of town? Also, you wouldn't mind pointing me towards where I've put words into someone else's mouth to make them look bad now would you? I go through great lengths not to perform any sort of character assasination. I don't know you from Adam, wouldn't recognize you walking down the street, or seeing you in a lounge. That is, unless we get together, have a few drinks, and eventually find out we have more in common than you'd like to project presently.

Those who know me, know I'm no saint by any means. I don't even try to act like one.

Sarcasm. That's rare for you.

ASA is doing just fine.

Haven't been in...the lounge? As in...the pilots lounge?

I'm pretty up to date on what's happening back at my company right now, staffing wise, and I haven't been in the lounge in a while. I mean really I just went down there to check my v-file and get my kit when I was at work anyway.

I never got anything from the lounge except for lies, damned lies and check airman lies.

Check airman lies are the best.

Interesting to watch the airline infighting from an outsider's perspective. It's not only company versus company, but even guys within the same company claw and scratch at each other.

Fascinating!

There is an easy example of you trying to put words in my mouth. Couldn't be further from the truth. I care greatly for our furloughed pilots.

So then #1 wasn't a reminder that I should keep my mouth shut? What was it then? Indicating that I just shouldn't care?

Where do you stay? South side as in the Newnan, PTC suburbs? Would love to get together and have a few drinks, perhaps a mini-Atlanta area M&G.

All you need to know is that MY regional is better than everyone elses, because I get paid .25 cents more an hour and my airplane holds 2 gallons more Crap in the lavatory than everyone elses airplane :D
