Wow so you only have to wait 15 years for a shotDon't short yourself by not having an application in with all the majors especially with your C-5 time.. I read something the other day that a Delta pilot at indoc was told that they would be hiring 8,000 over the next 15 years. Add that to what the other majors will need and after they take the cream off the top, there will be something for everyone for years to come..

The new pay scale isn't on APC yet. 60kish, 3rd year Brasilia. Holiday, and the occasional TDY and per diem isn't included, so it should be around that with a good tax guy.Looking at AMF's payscale I don't see how someone can make even $60k there as a fairly low longevity guy.

It's my regional buddies that are advocating that I should stay the most. They're seeing something I'm not apparently. I'll do what I want of course.I actually want the schedule of the regionals. That FO pay though... UGH!
Haha, pretty sure you were one of them that said that at some point, though maybe you were still at GL...Your buddies sounds like idiots.
Just wanted to add something for the regional/military crowd who want to go to a LCC as a stepping stone to a legacy. That's your prerogative, but be smart about it.
I flew with one if our CAs who attends our company job fairs. He makes them feel relaxed and talks like he's your best friend - he is a nice guy but also this Co. has a huge emphasis on people-people skills. You'd be surprised how many candidates get totally relaxed at a job fair once they figure they are talking to a best friend-type guy. Then these candidates really open up, and the kiss of death eventually comes out: "you know, I really like (LCC company name) but eventually I really want to work for Delta/AA/United. This CA will still talk to you and answer questions, be nice the whole way, but once you leave, guess which pile your resume is going in.
Be smart. Sometimes, true open honesty will get you. If you really want to work here, then fine and have your reasons (you very well may be asked). But if you are looking at this Co. as a stepping stone, don't go telling it to them. You will not be hired.
