the official "waiting for FOL from MEM PEPC" thread

I discovered that my facility has recieved a copy of my FOL, but I haven't. So, I emailed Elaine and she responded with this:

I had to hold up on classes beyond 11-19-08 as the academy is revising the schedule, so not sure if the date will be exactly the one we discussed. could move as much as a week i am told, so waiting to firm up till i get the
revision back.

I've heard a rumor that a 3rd party contractor is taking over all FAA training and this could have something to do with the delay. More waiting...

I also have been waiting 2 months! I have called a ton of different people and can't get a straight answer! I'm just getting the run around. Did you attend the PEPC on 7/23?

I wasn't told it was that or nothing but that was the requested date for me. I was asked if that date was okay and if I'd be able to make it. I didn't ask if anything later was available. I've been ready to get out of here haha

I didn't attend the PEPC on 7/23 but that's about the time that my paperwork was sent in. I have only been in contact with my Medical POC, who has been pretty straight forward and decent on communicating with me about my status. I guess I've been lucky in that sense. However, it doesn't make the fact that I'm still waiting any easier. From what I've been told, the person in charge of signing off on the medical paperwork was out of the office for a month or so and apparently he is totally swamped. This is the information that I was recently given. I don't know how long it will take him to catch up with things but I'm hoping it's soon. I understand how frustrating it is for you right now but hang in there!
 
Hey fellow En-routers:

I received a call today stating that the class starting Oct 31st had been canceled, and that my new academy date would be Oct 22nd. Did anyone else get this phone call?
 
ya they called me, I was supposed to start on October 21st, but they bumped me a day to the 22nd. Looks like they are merging the classes?
 
Got my email on Friday offering a December 9th class date. I was working on a project all weekend and didn't even see it until about midnight last night haha.
 
Received a call from HR just now. I'm going to OKC on November 18th!!!!!

I'll start OKC 1 year and 3.5 months after I first applied to an ATC.
 
I'd really like to go to OKC too, sometime this decade...:drool:

Congrats to you guys though [not really, I'm hating]
 
Got my date...January 16 . Not pleased with that for my own reasons, but at least I finally got a date =l Yippee?
